Summer internship, Data Governance Policy

Pandora is looking for a structured and curious Data Governance Intern to join our Strategy & Data Governance team in Copenhagen for a 3-month summer internship. You will work in an international and collaborative environment, contributing to how data and AI governance are operationalised across the organisation.

 

Role Purpose:

The intern will support the Data Governance team in developing and operationalising governance policies and standards. The primary focus of this role is to translate governance frameworks into clear, structured, and practical operational policies and documentation, ensuring they are easy to understand, implement, and adopt across the organisation. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data governance, policy design, and organisational transformation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Governance Policy Development

  • Support drafting of operational governance policies, standards, and procedures
  • Translate governance principles (e.g. accountability, data quality, metadata, privacy) into clear, actionable guidance
  • Structure content in line with internal policy frameworks and templates

 

2. Documentation & Structuring

  • Consolidate existing governance materials into consistent, structured documents
  • Ensure alignment with:
    • Data Governance Policy
    • AI Governance and related frameworks
    • Global policy standards and templates
  • Maintain version control and document clarity

 

3. Process & Operating Model Support

  • Help document governance processes, including:
    • Roles & responsibilities (RACI)
    • Workflows and operating procedures
    • Governance lifecycle steps
  • Support the creation of “how-to” guides for stakeholders

 

4. Simplification & Communication

  • Convert complex governance concepts into simple, easy-to-read content
  • Support creation of:
    • Playbooks
    • Quick guides
    • SharePoint / intranet content
  • Ensure policies are accessible for non-technical audiences

 

5. Research & Benchmarking

  • Conduct research on governance best practices and policy design
  • Support alignment with regulatory expectations (e.g. data protection, AI governance)

 

Key Deliverables (During Summer Period):

  • Draft of Operational Data Governance Policy
  • Supporting procedures and work instructions
  • Simplified guidance materials for business users
  • Structured governance documentation aligned to internal frameworks

 

Qualifications & Skills:

Education

  • Currently studying (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in:
    • Business, Economics, Law, IT, Data, Governance or similar
  • Strong academic interest in governance, compliance, or data/AI

 

 Skills

  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to structure and simplify complex topics
  • Attention to detail and document quality
  • Analytical and organised approach

 

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to:
    • Data governance / data management
    • Policy writing or documentation
    • AI or digital transformation topics

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Structured and detail-oriented
  • Curious and eager to learn
