Overview

 

The Search & Affiliate Marketing Specialist is responsible for contributing to the objective of driving high‑quality traffic, revenue, and customer acquisition through paid search (PPC), organic search (SEO), and affiliate marketing channels. This role combines analytical expertise with channel management skills to optimise performance, manage partners, and deliver measurable growth. The role will lead the briefing process with the agency partners, share the campaign calendar and ensure brand guidelines are adhered to. The Specialist will work with the wider Marketing team to ensure alignment and optimisation across all channels.

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Paid Search (PPC) Management

  • Plan, execute, and optimise paid search campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and other search partners.
  • Support with agency relationships, including organising meetings, QBRs and leading weekly calls.
  • Conduct keyword research, audience segmentation, and competitive landscape analysis.
  • Maintain the product feed, incorporating recommendations and best practices.
  • Develop ad copy, extensions, and landing page recommendations to improve Quality Score and conversion rates.
  • Track, analyse, and report on campaign performance using analytics and attribution tools.

 

2. Organic Search (SEO) Support

  • Perform keyword analysis and identify organic opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with content, product, and technical teams on SEO improvements (metadata, structure, site performance).
  • Lead SEO link-building campaigns to drive high quality outreach, backlinks and content.
  • Monitor rankings, crawl issues, and organic traffic trends.
  • Adopt a test and learn approach, keeping up to date with industry developments, best practices and new platform features.
  • Provide SEO insights to guide content strategy and optimise web pages.

 

3. Affiliate Marketing Management

  • Develop promotional plans and seasonal activation calendars with affiliate partners.
  • Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, terms and conditions, and ethical marketing practices.
  • Track performance and commission payouts through affiliate platforms (e.g. Rakuten).
  • Analyse partner performance and identify opportunities for scaling or optimisation.
  • Support affiliate network and partner relationships, including forging new contacts, networking and recommending brand-safe publishers to the programme.

 

4. Reporting & Analytics

 

  • Build weekly, monthly, and quarterly channel reports with insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Work closely with analytics teams to ensure accurate tracking (UTMs, tags, pixels).
  • Monitor KPIs including ROAS, CPA, CTR, conversion rate, and incremental revenue.

 

5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

 

  • Partner with brand, e‑commerce, product, and CRM teams to align search and affiliate strategies with broader marketing objectives.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to deliver compelling ad assets & affiliate content.
  • Work with external agencies or platform reps to support performance growth.
  • Facilitate relationships between UK, regional and global digital marketing teams, sharing learnings and pioneering the UK as a leading market.

The successful candidate

 

  • Experience in digital marketing, ideally in PPC and affiliate management.
  • Proficiency with Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Google Analytics/GA4, Search Console, and affiliate platforms.
  • Strong data analysis skills and proficiency with Excel/Sheets.
  • Experience managing budgets and performance‑based marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices and basic HTML is a plus.
