Tax Manager APAC

If so, look no further… This could be the job for you!An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Global Tax team for a Tax Manager to lead the tax function across APAC.
This person will report directly into our Head of Tax and ideally be located in Shanghai but we will consider candidates from alternative locations(i.e HK, Singapore, Thailand)
The main responsibilities include;
- Acting as a cross functional business partner in the region, ensuring that the tax team is supporting the business in a proactive and solution focused manner
- Working closely with finance and tax colleagues, tax advisors and the Group Tax Team to ensure tax compliance obligations are met across APAC
- Proactively identifying and managing tax risks and opportunities
- Supporting the transfer pricing documentation process
- Providing tax advice on a wide range of business initiatives
- Cooperating closely with the Group Tax Team to ensure alignment on the implementation and execution of tax policies across APAC, leveraging materials/support from the Group Tax Team where possible, and keeping functional tax leadership (indirect tax, transfer pricing and international tax/tax accounting) informed about developments in the region
- Managing external tax consultants and leading tax engagements
- Leading tax and customs audits in close cooperation with the finance team, Group Tax Team and other relevant functions such as supply chain
- Preparing and/or reviewing quarterly tax reporting/accounting packages
- Assisting with forecasts of tax payments and the group’s effective tax rate
- Updating the relevant stakeholders on developments of new tax regulations and implement required actions
Required skills and qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years's relevant tax experience working inhouse and/or as an advisor
- The ability to think creatively to build scenarios and find solutions
- Experience leading teams on a day to day and project basis
- Deep knowledge of international tax principles and tax compliance obligations
- Detailed knowledge of/experience with tax regulations in China and/or other countries in the region is a plus
- Work experience in the consumer products sector is a plus but not a requirement
- Good tax accounting knowledge is a plus
- Good business sense, can work independently and hands on
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationship with internal stakeholders, tax authorities and advisors
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Relevant education such as CA, CPA, CTA or any combination thereof
