Main Purpose of the role:

This role is designed for a seasoned HR professional with a commercial business mindset and strong generalist background. With particular emphasis on business partnering, the role will work together with the COE Team members to provide full cycle Human Resources support. It will execute our people initiatives, provide internal stakeholder support, and drive HR functional excellence and process improvement together with the HR Business Partnering Team.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Day to day operational management of the generalist HR Business Partnering team, including being an escalation point
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and employees on matters related to employee relations and performance management
  • Oversee all HR operations for both Retail and Head Office
  • Proactively identify and address employee concerns, fostering a fair and respectful workplace culture
  • Conduct investigations and provide guidance on disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations
  • Collaborate with the Performance and Rewards, Talent Management, WHS and Talent Acquisition COE on initiatives to be delivered in the retail and head office space
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve engagement, increase productivity and retention
  • Review, update and enforce our HR policies and procedures
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • HR Reporting

 

Pivotal and professional qualifications:

  • Strong generalist HR knowledge and experience with a minimum of 5 years working experience within the retail or FMCG industry
  • Understanding of Australian Labour legislation and best practices.
  • Deep knowledge of the General Retail Industry Award
  • Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring direct reports
