About the Team:
The Manager, Media Relations and Public Affairs will support the NAM Marketing team with a primary focus on consumer and corporate media relations, public affairs, and external communications.
You will work to create and maintain a positive public image for the Pandora brand in North America, while garnering ongoing national and local press.
This opportunity will play a key role in the marketing department in driving Pandora’s image and awareness in North America. You will collaborate closely with the other key members of the marketing team in both the NAM and Global Headquarters to ensure all efforts align with overall business and brand goals. Crafting external communications and support the marketing team with the coordination of all communications related initiatives.
Your Role as a Manager, Public Relations and Public Affairs:
• Develop and execute Pandora’s North American public relations strategy with the focus on driving brand desirability.
• Management of 1 direct reports
• You will work develop and build relationships with key editors whilst navigating the fashion and accessories media landscape to garner new ones.
• Support the brands philanthropic sponsorship opportunities, at both a local and national level.
• Cultivate and manage earned relationships with consumer + corporate media and key opinion leaders in the industry.
• Work with local and global executives to develop corporate media opportunities including drafting briefs with brand messaging.
• Manage all editorial requests and pitches to media outlets.
• Manage coordinator to support on sample sends outs and tracking for editorial requests.
• Work with Event manager on brand events that have editor attendance as well as require press coverage.
• Partner with Director on press opportunities for Pandora local and Global talent and influencers
• Handle the management of the PR department’s budget, including preparing budget summaries monthly or as needed.
• Manage PR Agency relationship in the US and Canada, direct and develop ideas/initiatives for campaign, seasonal and brand building needs.
• Create and manage both ongoing and recaps for PR supported initiatives including monthly reports.
• Collaborate with the marketing team on development and management of any local philanthropic programs.
• Work on the development for areas of equity-building opportunities for Pandora with a spotlight on sustainability and other key focuses for the brand
• Help execute crisis communications and risk mitigation plans in partnership with the Global Corporate team.
What is needed to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business
• Previous experience coaching and managing a team is required
• MBA is preferred but not essential.
• 5-8 year in Public Relations with a focus on both consumer and corporate communications
• Established industry & editorial relationships in the luxury, creative, fashion and jewelry space.
• Excellent verbal & written communication, interpersonal skills & presentation
• Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with international consumers and team members.
• Must be professional, personable, self-motivated, and flexible.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Should possess a combination of analytic and creative skills.
• Must be able to work independently and under pressure on multiple projects.
• Must be organized, detail oriented and unprompted follow through.
• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast –paced, dynamic environment.
Travel: Up to 20% travel
NYC Salary Range: $97,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience)
