Purpose of the role
As a Cluster Merchandise Financial Planning (MFP) Manager, you will lead the end‑to‑end merchandise financial planning process across the cluster. You will own local MFP, Open to buy (OTB), and Promotional Planning activities, translating global merchandising strategies into local financial objectives. Acting as the key partner for both global and local teams, you will shape financial plans, optimize inventory levels, and drive promotional strategies aimed at improving sales, profitability, and margin performance.
This role requires strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Own cluster merchandise financial plans by channel and country, ensuring alignment with global merchandising strategies.
- Translate global seasonal directions into actionable local financial objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities, margin enhancement potentials, and stock efficiency improvements.
- Manage and update OTB plans, reviewing them monthly with Global teams and weekly versus latest financial expectations.
- Lead cross‑functional conversations with Finance during budget cycles and last estimate reviews, ensuring transparency and shared understanding of OTB and collection strategies.
- Oversee budget‑related processes including collection planning, GM ownership, and retail discount planning.
- Guide the open‑to‑buy process, collaborating with Finance and senior leaders to set stock and DP targets aligned to sales trends.
- Lead Global Buy Reviews and ensure clear communication of all merchandise plan data to Global MFP.
- Lead cluster pricing and promotional planning activities, including price change implementation, promo calendar management, and post‑promo analysis.
- Monitor financial performance and recommend actions to achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Analyze inventory trends and define short‑ and mid‑term actions to optimize KPIs.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports across channels and countries.
- Collaborate closely with Global Merchandising, Cluster Finance, Sales, Inventory, and Allocation teams to execute the merchandising financial strategy.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- 5–7 years of experience within planning functions of a multinational company, preferably in Retail sector.
- Strong analytical mindset, commercial insight, and high attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to meeting targets and delivering profitable outcomes.
- Fluent in English and Italian.
