About the Team: 

The National Account Manager – Macy’s is responsible for leading the strategic partnership with Macy’s to drive retail sell-out, brand penetration, and profitable growth across the network. This role owns the development and execution of Macy’s-specific strategies that accelerate consumer demand through best-in-class clienteling, localized event activation, and impactful training initiatives, while upholding brand standards and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This role serves as the primary architect of Macy’s sell-out strategy, partnering closely with Macy’s leadership and field teams to influence priorities, shape execution, and unlock growth opportunities. The National Account Manager develops and communicates clear plans around clienteling programs, My Client utilization, local event strategies, product launch execution, associate education, visual standards, and marketing activation to drive consistent performance across doors.

The National Account Manager maintains a deep understanding of Macy’s business, customer, and regional market dynamics, leveraging data and field insights to identify opportunities for strategic expansion within the Macy’s network, including new formats, assortment evolution, elevated presentations, and pilot concepts. This role ensures strong operational excellence, with all locations aligned to retail guidelines and supported with appropriate assortments and inventory levels.

This position partners closely with Divisional Directors, Divisional Sales Managers, Business Development, Wholesale, and cross-functional teams to deliver against commercial objectives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment, can influence without authority, manage multiple priorities, and consistently deliver results with minimal oversight and tight deadlines.

Your Role as a National Account Manager,

  • Develop comprehensive, Macy’s-specific growth plans in partnership with Divisional Sales Managers, aligned to the broader divisional strategy, with a primary focus on driving retail sell-out, brand penetration, and long-term sustainability.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to Macy’s field and account leadership, shaping and executing clienteling strategies (including My Client utilization), localized event programs, product launch execution, and training initiatives that drive consumer demand and conversion.
  • Actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive adoption of best practices, identify scalable opportunities, and define optimal solutions for sharing across the Macy’s network and broader organization.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Macy’s customer, regional market dynamics, and competitive landscape, translating insights into actionable strategies and communicating trends and opportunities to leadership.
  • Develop sales forecasts and go-forward strategies based on current performance, anticipated customer needs, and identified growth opportunities.
  • Service and grow the Macy’s partnership through effective selling presentations, utilization of support services, and ongoing business and brand consultation.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, Merchandising, and Wholesale partners to align on priorities and accelerate retail and wholesale objectives.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic expansion within the Macy’s network, including new formats, elevated presentations, assortment evolution, and pilot initiatives.
  • Deliver against revenue, retail comp growth, KPI, and P&L targets.

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, sales management, business economics, or marketing.
  • 8-10 yrs professional experience in wholesale or retail sales organizations, ideally with Department Stores or National Accounts
  • Experience working in a global matrix organization and capacity to contribute to globally networked projects
  • Experience with issue management, preferably from a consumer-oriented business
  • Expertise in data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, PowerBI, Advanced Excel).
  • Familiarity with internal project management platforms and tools.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate process effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Account Management: Expertise in managing key accounts and building long-term relationships with national clients.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Ability to develop and implement sales plans tailored to national retail and wholesale markets.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with large-scale clients.
  • Business Analysis: Skill in analysing sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to make informed decisions.
  • Retail & Wholesale Knowledge: Understanding the dynamics of retail and wholesale distribution, including supply chain, inventory management, and merchandising.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Experience in creating sales forecasts and managing budgets effectively.

Salary Details: $130,000 -$150,000 commensurate on experience
