The main purpose of this role is to drive brand credibility and trust through the UK corporate comms strategy. This role will report into the UK Marketing Director.

What to expect from the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and executing the UK corporate press strategy. As the lead contact for all UK trade and business press, the candidate will pitch and secure editorial coverage in key corporate titles.

Outside of the traditional press responsibilities, this position will also play a leading role in developing and executing both charity and strategic partnerships, helping to shape Pandora’s reputation as a responsible business and bringing our brand message to life.

 

  • Strategy: Build and execute the UK corporate comms strategy in line with the Global Earned Media strategy and BRIS 3 year plan.
  • Corporate Communications: Lead contact for all financial and trade press. Work closely with Global Corporate Comms to build Pandora’s reputation in key business titles via pro-active news pitching, profile pieces and commentary.
  • Crisis Management: Work closely with Global Corporate Comms for all crisis management and reactive statements.
  • Internal Spokespeople: As we increase our voice on issues that impact our brand and our consumers, such as sustainability and empowerment, we seek to enhance our presence both at industry events and other relevant forums. The candidate will be responsible for developing a roster of Pandora spokespeople whose expertise and experience add to the conversation, whilst acting as ambassadors for our values, ethics and beliefs.
  • Charity & Strategic Partnerships: Lead all UK brand partnerships incl. charity collaborations and partnerships with NGOs, industry bodies and so on. Responsible for selecting and contracting partners, in addition day to day running of all associated activities.
  • Brand Messaging: Our brand messaging is at the heart of both our PR and wider Marketing strategy. The successful candidate will need to ensure our brand narrative is driven forward in an authentic and meaningful way through strategic partnerships, editorial coverage and speaking opportunities. The candidate will need to build a strong collaborative relationship with the PR Manager to ensure consistency across both consumer and corporate.
  • Employee Advocacy: work with UK HR and Sales teams to engage our 3000 team members, ensuring all individuals play a part in building our brand message.
  • Internal Communications: Work with HR team to support the preparation of both internal and external comms.
  • Cross-Functional Working: Work closely with UK Marketing, Global PR, and Corporate Comms teams.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Education: degree level or equivalent.
  • Corporate Comms Experience: 6 years+ experience in corporate communications, ideally within a large retailer. The candidate should be able to demonstrate solid relationships with journalists and showcase coverage results.
  • Agility: This is an independent role which reports into the Marketing Director, but with very close contact with the Global Corporate Comms team. As such, the candidate should be confident in quick decision making and be able to move efficiently in a crisis. The candidate should be able to make appropriate recommendations  based on both local and global needs.
  • Copywriting: The candidate should be an experienced copywriter who is able to draft corporate press releases, reactive statements and so on.

 

  • Partner Relations: experience of working with commercial and charity partners.
  • Ability to work under pressure: often to tight deadlines and able to make quick, informed decisions along the way.  
  • Discretion: the candidate should show discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Positive mindset: a positive team player who is happy to multi-task and support the wider team when needed.
  • Organisation: accuracy and attention to detail is key. The candidate must be able to demonstrate thoroughness when drafting comms, briefing in partners and speaking with press.
  • Excellent communication skills: both internally and externally, with all relevant stakeholders
  • A leader: who takes initiative and makes the role their own. Someone who is not afraid to hit the ground running
  • Media Training: The candidate should feel comfortable briefing executive leaders ahead of media interviews, in addition to providing sound guidance and support in the preparation of both external and internal communications.
