This role reports directly to the Finance Director for the British Isles Cluster (UK and Ireland market ownership), the 2nd largest in Pandora Globally. The role has ownership and responsibility for the key commercial and business partnering initiatives for the whole business. The role has two direct reports (Retail & eCommerce Business partner), with one further indirect report (Property business partner) with the team ultimately responsible for the business partnering of the cluster Sales Director, eCommerce Director and Property Director. This is a critical role which is considered a key voice in the decision-making progress to drive forward the strategic objectives of the cluster. Key responsibilities include:

What to expect from the role
Leadership
- Effectively lead the Commercial Finance sub-team to deliver best-in class results & ensure collaboration across departments.
- Manage the team effectively to ensure individuals are highly engaged and are regarded as a high performing team.
- Ensure consistent delivery of quality and timely output to stakeholders to deliver value creation for Pandora
- Provide regular coaching and development to ensure individual team members develop and thrive under their leadership.
- Collaborate with other managers both within Finance and across the organization to drive value creation for the business and foster a positive work environment.
Business Partnering
- Be credible, reliable and trusted partners who proactively drive results across the organization to achieve strategic objectives, by providing timely, straightforward and actionable insights to our stakeholders and acting as a key voice in the decision-making process.
- Develop insightful analysis and recommendations to drive value-per-visitor (VPV) (Conversion and Units per transaction focus) in Owned & Operated (O&O) store network. Parter cross-functionally to examine key changes in VPV performance and create recommendations for growth.
- Partner with Sales and HR teams to effectively manage store labour to drive store value-per-visitor and labour productivity.
- Management of commercial finance team to effectively business partner other key strategic initiatives, including but not limited to: Loyalty programme expansion & optimisation; O&O store refit programme and key product insights.
- Examine and present key commercial takeaways during local weekly trade meeting. Examine data in a wholistic manner to provide insightful & well-rounded conclusions and potential recommendations.
- Oversight and management of rolling revenue forecast owned by respective business partners.
- Oversight and management of store profitability with goal to increase EBIT over the medium term.
- Oversight of performance of wholesale channel. Partner with Sales director and wider team to assess and conclude on further wholesale expansion opportunities.
- Partner with Merchandising team and wider business to agree promotional mechanisms and dates. Analyse promotional performance to understand true drivers of performance and make recommendations for future improvements.
Budget/forecasting
- Work closely with sales, FP&A and global teams to produce revenue and OPEX budgets & forecasts within agreed timelines
- Review and challenge retail sales, orders and promo KPI assumptions vs prior year/forecasts
- Review and challenge monthly Opex variance analysis and commentary to ensure accurate and detailed cost management.
- Take initiative to continuously improve and streamline the planning process
Month End Close
- Oversight of month-end process within commercial finance team.
- Conduct month end reviews with FP&A manager and Finance Firector to understand key trends and Opex variances. Draft quarterly P&L outlook and detail out all commercial risks/opportunities to be addressed by wider business.
What we are looking for
- Qualified (CIMA/ACCA)
- Strong leader with a passion for developing people
- Previous experience in a commercial finance environment, preferably within Retail (multi-site experience would be highly advantageous)
- Advanced excel skills
- P&L management experience highly advantageous
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to confidently challenge when required and work well within all levels of the organisation
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent at multiple stakeholder management
