We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Retail HR Development Specialist with expertise in employee lifecycle management from a people-focused perspective. In this role, you will be instrumental in empowering our Store Managers across Portugal, guiding them to master all aspects of effective people management—from talent acquisition and onboarding to development and feedback. Your expertise will help our Store Managers cultivate high-performing teams, ensuring an outstanding employee experience and fostering a supportive, growth-oriented work environment.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

 

Field Support:

  • Spend significant time on-site at our stores, observing current dynamics and understanding challenges firsthand.
  • Partner with Store Managers to provide real-time guidance and support, offering tailored action plans for improving people management practices.
  • Work collaboratively to address specific store needs, helping Store Managers apply best practices in employee management and engagement.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the HR and Retail teams to align training goals and ensure seamless integration of HR initiatives within store operations.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to prioritize people management initiatives, ensuring strategic HR alignment with retail objectives.

 

Training and Development:

  • Identify the training and development needs of Store Managers specifically in people management, delivering targeted programs in recruitment, onboarding, feedback, and team development.
  • Collaborate with HR to create content and resources that address identified gaps and provide Store Managers with essential tools for talent management.

 

Coaching:

  • Provide personalized coaching for Store Managers to enhance their leadership skills in real-world situations.
  • Equip Store Managers with techniques for effective recruitment, onboarding, and employee performance evaluation, as well as for conducting sensitive conversations.
  • Promote open, constructive communication between Store Managers and their teams, fostering a positive work environment.

 

Performance Assessment:

  • Regularly assess and provide feedback on Store Managers’ people management skills, supporting their professional growth and development.

 

Recruitment Support:

  • Play an active role in supporting recruitment efforts for Store Managers and other key roles, ensuring the selection of candidates who align with our values and growth goals.

 

Progress Reporting:

  • Track and report on Store Managers’ development in people management, providing insights for ongoing strategic HR and training decisions.

 

MORE ABOUT YOU 

 

  • Proven experience in training, coaching, or developing retail management teams in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Fluent in Portuguese. English and/or Spanish are highly valued.

  • Strong understanding of retail operations and best practices. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to motivate and inspire team members. 

  • Proficient in conflict resolution and problem-solving. 

  • Experience with recruitment and talent acquisition. 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Passion for customer service and team dynamics. 

  • Availability to travel up to 80% of the time.
