About Pandora Vietnam
Pandora’s new jewellery crafting facility is located in the Vietnam–Singapore Industrial Park III (VSIP III), about 40 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. When fully scaled, the state-of-the-art facility will produce up to 60 million jewellery pieces annually and employ around 7,000 craftspeople. It is powered entirely by renewable energy and built to LEED Gold certification standards.
Key objectives:
• Oversee chemical management across PPV and ensure compliance to laws and regulations
• Improve chemical safety management system for reduce chemical impact
• Coordinate the local chemical team and other related departments
Key duties:
Team Management
• Support and update PPV chemical management policies and procedures (ie. handling, storage, transporting, registration, audits) that align with local and global regulations (HIGG FEM, Disney ILS, EU REACH, ISO, laws)
• Establish KPIs and action plans aligned with the 5-year SHE strategy and industry best practices (HIGG FEM, Disney ILS, EU REACH, ISO, laws , etc.) to achieve SHE strategy.
• Ensure learnings from past implementations are incorporated into future programs and policies
• Provide expert advice and guidance to organizations seeking to adopt safe and sustainable chemical practices.
Define Standards and Manuals
• Set standards and procedures for chemical safety management, adhering to legal requirements, sustainability principles, ISO standards, and customer demands.
• Develop comprehensive manuals covering chemical handling, storage, labeling, PPE usage, signage, emergency equipment, and chemical matrices align with chemical local team.
• Design and implement a robust chemical management system leveraging digital tools to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Coordinate with Production academy to embed SHE into master trainers and Production courses
Operate and Execute
• Coordinate with Manu Tech for build and improve SHE digitalization (Chemical management system)
• Establish a chemical center of excellence to support relevant departments.
• Collaborate with the relevant team on risk assessments for listed chemicals and hazardous substances.
• Oversee the layout and organization of hazardous substance and chemical storage areas, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
• Monitor all reports and documents from chemical local team related governance
• Coordinate with government agencies on legal requirements and certification applications.
• Monitor and control the annual chemical plan, training plan, audit plan.
• Implement corrective actions and improvement plans based on identified issues.
• Review design and legal requirements for new plant.
Drive Continuous Improvement
• Evaluate and optimize chemical usage to minimize health and environmental impact.
• Collaborate with local SHE coordinators on developing and delivering chemical safety training and communication materials.
• Support the introduction of new chemicals in accordance with local regulations and best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments using the HAZOP method for relevant departments handling high-risk processes such as hydrogen, LPG, and flammable substances.
• Uplift the safety standards for contractors handling the transportation and loading of chemicals.
• Support the collection of chemical data for sustainability initiatives.
• Improve chemical packaging and explore new, safe packaging options.
Audit and Compliance
• Support and coordinate with relevant departments regarding ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits.
• Update and respond to new and existing laws.
Job requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Science or similar.
• At least 3 years of chemical safety management experience or safety officer in professional level experience or environmental officer experience
• Hazardous Substance Control Authorities
• Passed chemical emergency responds training course
• Passed ISO14001/ ISO45001 requirement training course
• Knowledgeable with Thai safety law regulations in relation to occupational safety
• Good command in English
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
