Job Overview
Pandora, a leading global jewelry manufacturer, is embarking on a multi-year expansion and has recently completed the groundbreaking of our new facility in Binh Duong, Vietnam. We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to overlook our facilities in the new plant.
Key objectives:
- Establish SHE programs focusing on occupational health, safety, and environment for all employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors for work-related and off-duty activities to minimize SHE risks of Personal safety and Process safety
- Lead the design of SHE strategy, roadmap and milestones together with local SHE coordinators and Global sustainability of people, material and planet team
- Maintain compliance of SHE standards across all local sites and compliance to local laws but not limited to ISO14001&45001 standard, Disney ILS, HIGG FEM or SMETA when applicable
- Deliver SHE performance to align with Global C&S and Sustainability directions including Together Towards Zero roadmap
- Enable continuous execution and improvement for our best-in-class SHE compliance through challenges of changing regulations, fluctuation in capacity for continuous operations
Key duties:
1. Set strategic direction:
- Set SHE KPIs aligning with 5 years SHE strategy including 3 years SHE improvement plan in accordance with Global C&S strategy, Sustainability (People, Material, Planet) and Together Towards Zero roadmap
- Oversee PPV SHE related-programs and deliver action plans to sustain occupational health and safety of all employees, contractors, suppliers and visitors
- Deliver ISO14001, ISO45001, Disney ILS, HIGG FEM standard to sustain SHE culture with proactive approach
- Coordinate, create, & lead SHE strategy, roadmap and milestones with local SHE for effective implementation
- Plan SHE digitalization and 4.0 industry concept of SHE COE using Power BI, Master data, Power App for analysis/reporting to support Production growth, improve accessibility and reduce time-consuming for data utilization and smooth day to day activities
- Buildup SHE leadership accountability via SHE programs, campaigns, activities, suggestions, workshops, forums and monitor via SHE cultural survey approach for continuous improvement
- Enhance and instill SHE awareness for both Productions and Supports functions via Behavior based safety (BBS) “Take time to Take Care”, Stop work Authority (SWA), Online Trainings, Zero Accident Campaign, SHE rising star, SHE suggestion, SHE inspection, CAR centralization, Machine safety, Management of change (MOC) etc.
- Continuous improvement on SHE communication content and channels via online, onsite, virtual exhibition, radio, videos, intranet poster for effective communication
2. Define standards and manuals
- Set SHE standards and policies that align with local regulations and global strategy
- Oversee Environment, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (SHEMS) including ISO45001, 14001, Disney ILS, HIGG FEM or SMETA if applicable
- Oversee and approve Occupational Health & Safety information and instructions for employees, contractors, suppliers, visitors based on site level feedback
- Oversee SHE training curriculums and communication materials for mandatory and functional training to comply with Local laws and customer requirements
- Coordinate with Production academy to embed SHE into master trainers and Production courses
- Review, verify and develop workplace inspection, suggestion, activity, accident investigation reports and auditing guidelines and processes
- Coordinate with Procurement team, Contract owners, Activity owners, Locals for SHE related purchasing requirement, Services contract requirement, Construction/Maintenance engineering SHE standard, supplier qualification and evaluation criteria
3. Operate and execute
- Accountable for all SHE Local implementation tasks.
- Monitor and continuous improvement of MOC, Health+ system, Chemical management system (CMS), CAR centralization, SHE inspection, activity, suggestion, Waste disposal, Incident investigation are centrally managed, tracked and risk mitigated including learnings are shared across sites (New processes, machines, tools, chemicals, renovation) to comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure consistency of SHE policy implementation and adherence to roadmaps via ISO14001&45001 management review and summary monthly SHE report for Management team
- Support track records and data as required by Global sustainability team and Local Management i.e. People on LTIFR, Accident Details, Planet on chemical sustainability management, recycle waste, waste to landfill through data summary, interview, onsite visit though meetings, dashboards, Townhalls, Workshops.
- Provide and monitor effective occupational health, non-communicable diseases (NCDs) related to occupational health but not limited to ergonomics programs, medical examinations with record keeping and reported under PDPA as required for employees and service providers as requested
- Ensure compliance to Safety, Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene, Chemical and Environment according to Local Laws and regulations across all sites
- Support as Lead auditors / Internal auditors for SHE committee inspection, preparing for ISO14001&45001, Disney ILS, HIGG FEM, SMETA, CTPAT, TLS,Carbon footprint organization (CFO), compliance as applicable
- Provide suggestion for corrective and preventive actions to close Corrective action requests (CARs)
- Coordinate with Government agencies on legal reporting requirements, certification applications, Pandora site visit as required
- Provide train-the-trainer and create plan for SHE capability enhancement, monitor, analyze and forecast mandatory and functional trainings for SHE Local & Center teams for smooth and effective support to Operations
- Review and maintain compliance of supplier qualification process and waste disposal, but not limited to Global legal team for Gift and entertainment controls
- Coordinate with governments, IEAT for SHE improvement plan, handling SHE compliant and area for improvement execution including CSRs activity participation with Communication team and IEAT
- Achieve external SHE awards from IEAT and/or related Thai government for Safety, Environmental and Occupational health awards when applicable i.e. from Public Health, DIW, DLPW, TOSH, OAP etc.
- Uplift SHE competency for technical and non-technical skills to deliver the expected outcome
- Work mirroring with SHE Local coordinators to drive for best-in-class SHE performance
4. Drive continuous improvements
- Ensure learnings from past implementations are incorporated into future programs and policies
- Drive continuous improvement to Environment, Occupational Health, and Safety Management system
- Benchmarking with Jewelry manufacturing factory to uplift and standardize SHE management system for national and international best-in-class and continuous SHE performance
- Provide leadership for team members including advice, coaching, general support and additional resources when necessary
- Monitor and analyze SHE KPIs trends, leading and lagging indicators for gap analysis i.e. inspection, suggestion, incident investigation, CAR to establish robust process to mitigate risks down to minimum
What is needed to succeed:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Management Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental.
- Good knowledge of ISO45001, ISO14001, 5S, KYT, Disney ILS, HIGG FEM
- Good personality and a key team player.
- Strong people management skill.
- Good computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Possess the strategic perspective and create sustained results for Pandora (financial, non-financial)
- Demonstrate ability to make hard decisions, making the right trade-offs
- Effectively plan and efficiently deliver exceptional work while handling both volume and complexity
- Fluent in English communication
