Let’s DELIVER together:
As Trade & Customs Specialist, you will shape standards, manage customs authorizations and oversee key compliance processes to ensure consistent audit readiness. Your contribution secures a high‑quality, compliant import and export environment built on accuracy, risk awareness and continuous improvement.
In this role, you will monitor bonded‑warehouse activities, fulfil AEO‑C obligations and drive process optimization and effective risk mitigation, and act as a professional point of contact for customs authorities in matters requiring clarification, approval or coordination. You will help to strengthen and govern our compliance framework across the EMEA Distribution Center in Hamburg.
You will be responsible for :
- License & permit portfolio: Maintain and extend customs authorizations (e.g., AEO), ensure all conditions are met, and lead renewals and internal checks.
- Bonded warehouse governance: Oversee processes, stock movements and the control framework; drive corrective actions with Operations, IT and external stakeholders.
- Classification & export control standards: Define policies for HS codes, origin/preference, Incoterms and screening, ensuring full adherence to EU/UCC requirements.
- Systems & data oversight: Manage compliance tooling (e.g., Dakosy ZODIAK GE/ATLAS) from an admin/governance perspective including roles, access and dashboard monitoring.
- Audit readiness & reporting: Run self‑assessments, maintain SOPs and records, and prepare for customs-authority interactions and internal audits.
- Continuous improvement: Map processes, define KPIs, drive root‑cause fixes collaboratively with Logistics, Warehouse and Customer Experience teams.
What we DREAM of:
- 3–5 years of experience in customs compliance or trade governance (AEO, bonded‑warehouse, export control).
- Solid knowledge of EU customs law (UCC) and export‑control practices, with the ability to interpret updates from BAFA/EU Commission.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder-management skills; confident collaborating with operations and external partners.
- Working understanding of Dakosy ZODIAK GE/ATLAS (or similar) - you can interpret data and systems without being the declarant.
- German & English at business‑fluent level (written and spoken).
- Nice to have (not required): Exposure to ERP environments (e.g., SAP) and experience mapping compliance elements during system changes.
