As part of expanding the Pandora Digital and Technology organization in Copenhagen, we are looking for a VP, Data Engineering & Architecture.
Your Role:
As VP, you will lead the data engineering organization leading a professional team of data engineers who are part of dedicated product teams. The product teams and their product managers will naturally also be your stakeholders. We work in an agile context, and how you partner across the Data and Analytics teams, and then within the broader Digital & Tech community will define your success.

Deliver innovative data products leveraging “fit for purpose” analytic platforms and practices that will support a world class Data & Analytics organization

Empower stakeholders to solve business problems and measure performance with self-service analytics and KPI’s . Deliver new consumer experience data products powered by AI and machine learning.

Drive ownership of data into functional areas of the business by evolving the D&A organization from a centralized into a federated operational model

Lead the transformation of Data & Analytics into data product and platform teams that operate in a DevOps model

Provide thought leadership and technology vision at all levels of the organization to inspire and lead the use of Data & Analytics in Pandora’s digital transformation strategy

Work closely with product owners & managers to co-create the D&A roadmap and be accountable for the delivery of high-quality capabilities on-time and budget

Build and lead multi-disciplinary teams using Agile development methodologies where you will coach and mentor individuals and managers in a high-performance culture that prioritizes people

Thrive in a fast-paced environment and you get motivated by challenges as a true problem solver

Build strong working relationships across multiple business and technology teams to collaborate and remove technical complexity starting with the customer and working backwards

Support relationships with strategic technology partners and ensure they are aligned with our strategy

Work with technology leaders to develop a strong engineering culture that raises the bar for excellence improving productivity and employee satisfaction
What is needed to succeed:
Extensive past experience as an engineer – you don’t need to have grown up in data but the latter part of your career to date will have been leading data engineering/teams

15+ years of professional technology experience designing, building and operating data warehouse and big data services

10+ years experience leading teams that build data products and services for internal customers with extensive experience in large-scale big data environments.

7+ years experience with a major cloud platform like Azure or Google Cloud leveraging various Analytical or big data PaaS services
-
10+ years’ experience building and leading multiple teams in a fast-paced Agile environment. This leader is a talent magnet recruiting the best and the brightest. Highly experienced with mentoring, coaching, goal setting and performance management.

Technical experience with:
- Computational aspects of big data using technologies like DataBricks, Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift , Hadoop etc as well as working with statistical models like PySpark libraries or Jupyter Notebooks

Data visualization tools like Tableau, Google Data Studio, PowerBI. etc

Data storage and query languages like Avro, Parquet, XML and SQL
-
Data integration, ingestion and pipelines

Conceptual & dimensional modelling with Datawarehouse designs & tabular cubes

Proven experience applying Data Fabric or Data Mesh design in an Event Driven Architecture to solve challenges with data quality and governance

Experience defining, engaging and communicating an engineering and architectural strategy through to roadmap delivery

Experience from data warehouse migrations or data transformation projects is an advantage
-
Experience from a relevant and data rich company, retail experience is an advantage

Highly proficient in English and able to communicate with all levels
