Strategic Sourcing Manager - Interim, Global Indirect Procurement

Scope, plan and execute sourcing projects across indirect spend categories 

As Strategic Sourcing Manager in Global Procurement, you will work on scoping, planning, and executing various sourcing projects across our indirect categories at Pandora according to our 6 sourcing steps. Categories span across packaging, furniture, services, media & marketing, logistics, digital, etc. and thereby offer a good opportunity to get exposure to and explore various categories. Your playing field will be global as Pandora operates a truly global retail network. 

 

In this position, you will be running several sourcing projects simultaneously, all with annual purchase value above 1 million DKK and you will therefore be expected to prioritise between tasks and plan smartly in order to ensure progress. You will be in charge of ensuring an efficient and transparent sourcing process while staying compliant to various Pandora policies. 

 

As Sourcing Manager, you will be business partnering with various Pandora departments to clarify business needs and project governance for each sourcing project in close dialogue with the respective Global Category Manager. You will have to be clear on what is expected from all parties engaging in the sourcing project, ensuring upfront alignment on roles and responsibilities, required resources, etc. Throughout all phases of the sourcing project, you will need to proactively communicate to SteerCo, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders who make the key decisions and are the ultimate budget and decision owners. 

 

Accountabilities include:  

  • Scope the project and develop the project plan for the specific sourcing project incl. clear timelines, governance, targets and deliverables 

  • Analyse data and assemble specifications for the purchase in scope. This can include market analysis, benchmarking, supplier analysis, spend analysis, review of existing contracts, etc. 

  • Develop sourcing strategy and prepare tender in our eSourcing software Scanmarket.  

  • Support in the Legal review with our Legal department as needed 

  • Execute sourcing process in our e-sourcing software Scanmarket. This includes all supplier communication, evaluation of supplier responses  

  • Preparation of internal decision material 

  • Prepare and execute negotiations with suppliers. We expect you to bring a strong theoretical foundation around negotiation (BATNA, ZOPA etc.) and can leverage this in real-life negotiations through thorough preparation and strong execution 

  • Define eAuction strategy and execute eAuctions if relevant on a given project. 

  • Promote Sustainability. Embed sustainability factors in the tender process, supplier selection criteria & contracting 

  • Ensure Compliance. Ensure that various screenings are performed to make sure supplier is safe to work with – help protect Pandora 

  • On each project, document procurement value-add for internal reporting towards fulfilling our department objectives including savings reporting, etc.

  • Min. 3-5 years of relevant experience within procurement (direct and/or indirect), sourcing, category management, contract management, tender management or similar 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Business Management or similar 

  • Proven project management skills and sourcing toolbox incl. running tenders and contracting 

  • A solid understanding of negotiation dynamics 

  • An analytical mindset and solid Excel skills 

  • Ability to quicky learn and adapt to sourcing software such as Scanmarket 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 

  • Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools like Qlikview is a plus

  • Global Career Band 4 - Manager 

  • Fixed-term contract (Interim) 12 or 13 months depending on the start date
