About the Role

As Senior Engineering Manager, DevOps CoE, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Pandora’s engineering culture and practices. You will own the definition and adoption of engineering standards, DevOps principles, automation practices, and high-performance engineering behaviours across Digital & Technology.

 

You will lead and develop engineers through strong people leadership, capability building, and coaching, while driving a consistent approach to engineering excellence. This includes embedding DORA metrics, SDLC automation, reliability and SRE practices, and intelligent developer workflow automation at scale. You will manage a blended team of internal and external engineers and ensure predictable, high-quality, and secure software delivery across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Leadership & People

  • Lead teams focused on DevOps Platform, Operational Excellence, and DevOps Tooling.
  • Drive career development, capability uplift, and succession planning for engineers.
  • Champion a culture of DevOps, experimentation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

 

DevOps Platform & Developer Experience

  • Own engineering delivery for the DevOps platform and tooling (GitHub, CI/CD, IaC, observability, Backstage, AKS).
  • Drive self-service capabilities, golden paths, and developer productivity improvements.

 

Engineering Standards & SDLC Automation

  • Define and maintain Pandora Engineering Standards and automate SDLC controls (quality, security, compliance, release).
  • Partner with architects to enable decoupled, reusable, and modern platforms.

 

Operational Excellence & SRE

  • Improve reliability and flow using DORA metrics, MTTR/MTTC, and incident/change excellence.
  • Embed postmortem culture and SRE practices across domains.

 

Community & Partnerships

  • Lead DevOps and reliability communities across Digital & Technology.
  • Manage strategic vendors and partnerships (GitHub, Azure, Atlassian, New Relic) to maximize value.

 

What We’re Looking For

 

We are seeking a strategic, inspirational, and hands-on leader who can define a clear vision, build strong followership, and drive results at scale. You combine deep engineering and DevOps expertise with outstanding communication and coaching skills and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure engineers and business partners understand, adopt, and excel in the direction you set.

 

Your Profile

 

  • 8+ years of experience in senior engineering leadership or platform/DevOps leadership roles.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing senior engineers and engineering managers in a global, matrix organization.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering, DevOps, cloud-native platforms, and enterprise governance.
  • A visionary leader with strategic, yet hands-on and execution-focused approach when needed.
  • Inspirational leadership, comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving innovation.
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into business language.
