Project Manager, Merchandising

Connecter between functional needs and technology 

As project manager for the merchandising function, you will be an essential part of the company’s transformation into the new ERP system, ensuring key Merchandising capabilities are reflected, to secure an excellent planning function and a smooth running of the jewellery business in the existing system landscape.  


You will act as the connector between functional needs, technology and merchandising functions, to ensure we are always working on the things that creates value for our consumers and the business. You will holistically manage the project management process for an agile team that works with everything from stabilisation of current planning solution, running the business tasks, process improvement, improvement of system setup and creation and improvement of supporting tools for our merchandising community. You will act as the voice of our merchandising functions, and translate their needs into product vision, roadmap, objectives, key results and corresponding team backlog. Continuously prioritizing the backlog will be of utter importance to optimise and realise beneficial improvements for the business. You will also act as the voice of process owners and Global Merchandising in the potential transformation of future planning system, demand and inventory and pricing and consumer insights capabilities.  


You will be collaborating with multiple stakeholders from different functional areas – Global Supply Chain, Digital and Tech, Global Merchandising, and Cluster Merchandising – to identify opportunities for improvement. Furthermore, you will also be collaborating with important external stakeholders such as system providers/vendors and service and consultancy providers amongst others.  


Additional accountabilities include:  

  • Be the project champion orchestrating all Merchandising function, aiming for a strong alignment with process owners across organisation 

  • Own and constantly prioritise product backlog to optimise for benefit realisation 

  • Lead the refinement of the backlog at the different levels 

  • Secure smooth running the business in existing system landscape 

  • Drive refinement and investigation into potential improvement areas for Global Merchandising 

  • Collaborate with Digital & Tech area to ensure optimised system setup and support 

  • Collaborate with Data and Analytics team on reporting and tooling solutions for optimised planning 


Effective decision making and focus on delivery 

To succeed as Project Manager, we envision you have minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in project management, demonstrating successful development and delivery of strategies, roadmaps through to product launch and optimization. You thrive on working with a multitude of stakeholders to overcome challenges, and you are flexible and adaptive to changing priorities. You are a strong team player with good people, networking and communication skills. You are structured and well-organised, and you enjoy having a coordinative role. Adding to this, you have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, a strong sense of urgency and responsibility, and you can manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Furthermore, we hope you have or can demonstrate:  

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration or Management Engineering 

  • Strong knowledge about planning processes, sales forecasting and demand planning 

  • Extensive knowledge about planning solutions/systems/software 

  • Experience with working with tech road maps and system design 

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel 

  • Strong aptitude to learn technical applications (like: MS Access, Hyperion and APTOS) quickly 

  • APIC certification and agile certifications are a plus
