Principle Engineer, Core Technology 

 

This role supports PANDORA’s strategic aspiration to be the leading direct-to-consumer brand using digital to create intimacy at scale for our consumers & shoppers. To reach this goal, we need a world class technology that optimizes PANDORA´s business service delivery through automation and process simplification.    

 

This role is a strategic member of the engineering leadership organization that establishes engineering standards, directs technology decisions and develops engineering talent. As principal engineer you will partner closely with other senior engineers, executives, product management across the enterprise to solve complex problems and deliver mission critical services that work at scale across the globe. A principal engineer is a technology leader in all aspects of their role and leads by example with designing and operating our omni channel technology services. 

 

Your key accountabilities will be to:  

 

  • Architect and develop complex systems at scale that meet SLA’s, KPIS and engineering standards 

  • Collaborate and influence Sr. technology and business leaders to recommend solutions and articulate trade-off’s  

  • Provide consulting and guidance to engineer teams to improve quality and engineering excellence 

  • Diagnose and remedy performance or security issues  

  • Demonstrates expertise in industry standards for secure development practices 

  • Expertise with telemetry solutions and products available in the industry 

  • Contributes to open source, community projects and engineering standards 

  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and drive engineering excellence, continuous improvement and standards across the enterprise 

  • Help acquire and develop top engineering talent 

  • Develop scalable, responsive and global solutions to drive business outcomes and growth   

  • Stakeholder and participant in the Design Review process, evaluating and providing feedback on projects and architectures with an engineering focus 

 

What is needed to succeed:   

 

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and supporting mission critical Tier 1 services. 

  • Track record of architecting and solving complex engineering problems at scale with outstanding business and technology results  

  • Experienced with developing high-performance micro services and applications with enterprise grade security 

  • Proficiency with at least two programming languages including Java or .NET  

  • Experience working directly with engineering teams in an agile software development environment  

  • Ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences and influence outside technical teams  

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver with quality in a fast-paced, dynamic environment 

  •  Creative thinking and problem-solving in the face of ambiguity with limited resources and real-world constraints, and the ability to identify the root cause of complex problems. 

  • DevOps experience with track record of improving time to recovery and mitigating failures 

  • Highly experienced with various CI/CD process and tools GitLab, Containerization technologies
