About the Role
In this role, you will consolidate top-down merchandise financial planning across your assigned Clusters, ensuring alignment with global strategy and optimized inventory performance. You will own end-to-end controlling and reporting, driving rigorous analysis to challenge Cluster assumptions and strengthen the plan quality. By evaluating historical trends, future outlooks, network changes, and promotional strategies, you will ensure that plans are both ambitious and realistic. Additionally, the role will develop as a people manager, leading a team of 1-2 colleagues.

 

More specifically, responsibilities will include:

 

1.Merchandise Controlling and Reporting

  • Owning comprehensive controlling and reporting across sell-out, revenue, units, ASP, and sell-in
  • Challenging and validating cluster assumptions to improve robustness and credibility of plans, and delivering performance analysis to identify risks, gaps, and opportunities
  • Leading variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year to drive meaningful discussions with clusters
  • Developing clear dashboards and executive-level reporting to support decision-making

 

2. Inventory and Sell-In Controlling

  • Assessing and consolidating cluster total business inventory plans versus global inventory guidelines and commercial ambitions, as well as monitoring inventory health indicators
  • Aggregate cluster’s future network changes. Ensure those plans are known and incorporated into plans of other merchandising functions in Global Merchandising

 

3. Cross-Functional Business Partnering

  • Acting as the financial bridge between Finance, Supply Chain, and Merch geo-squad functions
  • Facilitating alignment between commercial ambition and operational feasibility

 

4. Continuous Improvement and Governance

  • Enhancing planning and reporting processes to increase transparency and efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with global financial and inventory governance standards
  • Improving analytical tools and methodologies to support stronger business steering

 

Some business travel is expected for this role, for approx. 10 days per year. 

 

What is needed to succeed

  • 5-8 years of solid experience working within Merchandising, Supply Chain or controlling roles, ideally within a global organization
  • Experience from retail, fashion or FMCG industry is a plus
  • Proven experience in financial acumen and analytical thinking, with the ability to communicate complex financial insights clearly
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, by creating atmosphere of trust
  • Planning and forecasting experience
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
