We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to play a key role in shaping and modernizing our global B2B solution ecosystem. This is a high-impact position at the intersection of technology, business, and scale - ensuring seamless integration between our retail operations worldwide and external partner platforms. You will help define the technical direction of a mission‑critical platform, take shared leadership of a mixed team of internal and external engineers, collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure our B2B infrastructure and applications are scalable, secure, and future-ready.  

 

Key Responsibilities
As Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence across the B2B solution landscape. The following responsibilities represent key examples of what you will work with in this role:

 

Technical Leadership

  • Be a key driver for the architecture and technical roadmap implementation for the custom B2B commerce solution.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers across backend and frontend (good to have infrastructure domain knowledge).
  • Informed and supporting DevOps processes and environment configurations using Azure DevOps and Terraform.
  • Validation of the solution to align with changing business requirements

Solution Development & Modernization

  • Design and implement robust, scalable solutions leveraging Azure services and on-premise integrations.
  • Support assessments to migrate the monolithic application to microservices architecture, ensuring modularity, scalability, and resilience.
  • Front-end frameworks assessment and updates to a modern tech stack.
  • Maintain connectivity with various downstream systems, e.g. ERP systems, including AX and SAP systems
  • Oversee Kubernetes-based deployments for Kafka Facades.

Infrastructure Management

  • Understand, manage and optimize Azure components: SQL, App Services, Functions, Storage (Blob), Service Bus, and Event Grid.
  • Ensure security, high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place.

Backend Engineering

  • Lead development using MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, and NodeJS) tech stack.

Frontend Engineering (Secondary Focus, Nice to Have)

  • Oversee legacy ASP.NET MVC applications with JavaScript (jQuery, jQueryUI).
  • Support and maintain Vue.js v2 components (legacy, non-supported).

Quality & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain best practices for code quality, security, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, and DevOps teams to deliver business-critical solutions.
  • Act as the technical liaison for B2B integrations with external partners.

 

Required Skills & Experience
The following skills and experience describe what we are looking for to succeed in this role and make a meaningful impact.

Technical Expertise
•    Strong experience with Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure.
•    Proven strong experience in MERN tech stack, Node.JS, MongoDB, React.JS, Next.JS
•    Experience with event-based architecture, including Kafka
•    Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
•    Knowledge of .NET Framework and .NET Core (legacy solution) is a plus, not mandatory.

Modernization & Architecture
•    Proven experience in migrating monolithic applications to microservices architecture, including domain-driven design, API-first principles, and event-driven systems.
•    Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for microservices.

Frontend Knowledge
•    Solid understanding of JavaScript frameworks, and legacy systems.
•    Good to have, but not mandatory, knowledge of ASP.NET MVC.

Integration & Automation
•    Good to have, but not mandatory, knowledge of PowerShell scripting and system automation.

Leadership & Communication
•    Proven ability to lead engineering teams and manage complex projects.
•    Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
•    Willingness to challenge status quo together with product management


Preferred Qualifications 
In addition to the core requirements, experience in the areas below will be beneficial and support a deeper understanding of the end‑to‑end retail and B2B ecosystem we operate in:
•    Experience in Retail or B2B commerce platforms.
•    Experience with OMS and order processing states.
•    Familiarity with AX09 and/or SAP integrations.
•    Familiarity with MS SQL Server and T-SQL.
•    Knowledge of event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus and Kafka.
