At Pandora, data is a strategic enabler of transformation across retail, supply chain, sustainability, manufacturing, and more. As we expand our global Data & Analytics footprint, we’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to drive the delivery of high-quality, scalable data products. 

 

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of execution, building best in class architecture with our architects and engineering managers, and translating business strategy into robust, cloud-native data solutions. You’ll collaborate across domains, mentor engineering talent, and enable analytics capabilities that fuel decision-making, operational efficiency, and innovation.

Your primary focus will be to drive technical excellence within our engineering teams—ensuring the delivery of scalable, stable, and high-quality data products that support Pandora’s strategic ambitions. 

  

Further to this you will: 

  • Lead the design and delivery of robust, cloud-native data pipelines that support ingestion, transformation, and consumption of complex datasets. 

  • Automate manual processes and optimize data delivery to improve performance, reliability, and quality. 

  • Collaborate with product manager, architects, and engineering managers to build data solutions that drive commercial growth and operational efficiency. 

  • Translate business needs into technical designs and conceptual data models that support analytics and reporting. 

  • Guide and mentor engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that meet business objectives. 

  • Champion engineering standards and CI/CD practices to enhance platform scalability, maintainability, and delivery speed. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to solve data-related challenges and ensure alignment. 

  • Contribute as a technical expert in strategic projects and help evolve Pandora’s data platform to meet future needs. 

  • Take ownership of data products, ensuring their stability, performance, and continuous improvement. 

  • Promote scalable data products through a “build-once, consume-many” mindset, enabling self-service and accelerating value creation. 

  

We are on a journey from IaaS-based Microsoft/QV solutions to Azure PaaS with the use of well-known tools and solutions like Databricks, ADF, Data Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics. 

  

Team player passionate about data and engineering 

You’re a collaborative team player with a product mindset, a can-do attitude. You are structured and analytical, always aiming to achieve great results. Furthermore, you are a confident communicator and have the ability to explain your solution design and tailor the message according to the audience. 

  

You’re perfect for this role if you have: 

  • 7+ years of experience as a data engineer or BI engineer, with a proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade solutions  

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and/or Python and pyspark with experience working with relational datasets  

  • Solid understanding of dimensional modelling, reporting layers, and data integration patterns  

  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, architectures, and datasets  

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP  

  • A strong DevOps mindset, with practical experience in CI/CD, Git based workflows, and engineering best practices  

  • Familiarity with unit testing and automated quality assurance in data engineering workflows  

  • Experience delivering production-ready data products that support business-critical use cases  

  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels  

  • An agile mindset and hands-on experience working in Scrum teams 

  

Your team 

You will be an essential part of the data engineering organization and Pandora’s extended Data & Analytics community. You will work within engineering teams in an agile based organization as lead engineer dedicated to one or more teams. 

 

As we are a growing team, you will have the chance to influence our culture and working tools and work together with other data engineers, analytics engineers, architects, scrum masters, product managers and much more across Europe, India and Thailand.
