Head of Trade & Customs

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Trade & Customs, a new global leadership role at Pandora.
As the Head of Trade & Customs, you will lead the development of a world-class global trade & customs function, overseeing trade & customs operations across the world. Reporting to the Global Head of Tax, this strategic role is responsible for uniting regional customs teams under a high-performing, globally integrated function. You will develop and implement a global trade & customs strategy that drives operational efficiency, compliance, and duty optimization across regions. This role will lead a customs function of approximately 25 and work closely with supply chain operations teams/leadership. Regional trade & customs managers, who manage approximately 20 trade & customs professionals, will have a dual reporting setup to the Global Head of Trade & Customs and to regional supply chain operations leaders.

Key Responsibilities
Global Trade & Customs Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a global trade & customs strategy in collaboration with the regional trade & customs and supply chain operations leadership that drives operational efficiency, compliance, and duty optimization across regions.
- Lead the integration of three regional trade & customs teams into a unified, high-performing global function, creating synergies and consistency in customs processes across regions while fostering collaboration.
- Act as a primary point of contact for senior leadership and key internal stakeholder groups on trade & customs matters, providing insights on risks/opportunities, regulatory changes, duty optimization opportunities.
Duty Optimization & Efficiency
- Collaborate with stakeholder groups to identify opportunities for duty savings and operational efficiencies.
- Strategically drive optimization initiatives to reduce duty costs and reduce lead times, while ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
Customs Governance & Compliance
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes that impact the group’s global operations, proactively advising senior leadership on potential risks or opportunities.
- Ensure the global trade & customs function is prepared to adapt to changes in international trade laws, tariffs, and sanctions, particularly in light of geopolitical factors.
- Identify and/or work with regional trade & customs teams to mitigate risks with respect to trade sanctions, embargoes, and other trade barriers.
- Develop and implement strategies to manage and mitigate trade & customs risks.
- Lead the development of global policies and procedures for customs management, ensuring consistency, process optimization and compliance across regions.
- Monitor and proactively manage/support regional trade & customs teams on customs audits
- Manage relationships with customs authorities, trade associations, and external stakeholders.
Regional Team Leadership & Development
- Oversee and provide strategic direction and support to regional trade & customs teams.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing customs team culture, ensuring effective communication, performance management, and alignment in support of the broader global function.
Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in customs management, trade compliance, or global logistics, including time in a leadership role within a multinational corporation or as a customs/international trade advisor.
- Global: Experience working and being successful in a global matrix role or similar
- Leadership: Experience managing multi-national teams, with a proven track record creating alignment towards shared strategic objectives and a focus on developing talent.
- Regulatory Expertise: Deep understanding of global customs regulations and trade compliance, with particular expertise in markets such as the EU and US.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required.
