As part of expanding the Pandora Digital and Technology organization in Copenhagen, we are looking for a Director of Platform Engineering and Martech to lead teams of Engineering Managers, Software and Data Engineers, Solution Architects, QA Engineers in an agile environment within Pandora’s Data & Analytics Center of Excellence.


Pandora has been making a significant investment in Data, Analytics & Martech as we push towards realising our Digital & Tech Strategy goal of 2025.


We are already well into our transformation journey; however, we are now looking to drive a significant step change towards 2025.


This role will be a key player in driving both the ongoing build & vision of our Data & Analytics platform; transforming our tech architecture to set us up for success and building the marketing solutions that will surprise and delight our consumers with personalized experiences.


You will be a key player in driving the engineering; architectural vision and ambitions for Martech & Data to enable Pandora to reach the next level of growth.


Your Role as a Director, Data Platforms and Martech:


  • Build a strong, reliable, cost-effective, and compliant global data platform for the product organization to allow them to focus on business value.
  • Your tasks will include partnership with the team to define best practices / architecture blueprints, build the backlog and lead the work to execute on the vision.
  • You will also manage the people in the team, handle the recruitment and scale the team to fit company’s needs.
  • You will be involved in cross department collaboration, bringing the data platform to be used across the entire company.
  • Extend the martech capabilities of Pandora with a new level of maturity. Bring your engineering processes requirements to step up the organization and build a department based on modern technologies.
  • Participate in defining a clear product culture contributing to the Software Development Life Cycle with clear KPIs and processes
  • Responsible for Data Platforms & Marketing Technology applications
  • Management of Data Platform & Marketing Technology Engineering teams, both internal and external employees
  • Driving an agile engineering product focused delivery approach to development cycles.
  • Build and deliver a high performing engineering team that take ownership and accountability for the build and run of their products
  • To drive the highest possible efficiency; engineering standards and architectural vision to deliver the best possible quality product based on business demands
  • Member and partner to the Data & Analytics COE leadership team
  • Member of the Consumer Engagement stream of the Pandora Digital Strategy vision towards 2025 north star


What is needed to succeed: 

  • 8+ years of solid experience working in software application development, with a proven track record of building high performing engineering teams
  • Experience in a leadership/people management role
  • Experience with Marketing Application is required incl. CRM; Website Management; Media Buying Platforms; Content & Asset Management; Authentication solutions
  • Experience with managing Customer & Data Platforms for commercial impact
  • Extensive experience of leading engineering teams in an agile framework, product driven development cycle
  • Experience of architecting and building software products from pre-launch through maturity
  • Experience driving a transformation with a strong focus on architecture & engineering standards
  • Experience from technology, retail, fashion or FMCG industry
  • Strong engineering background & cultural understanding within a global organisation
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Strong OKR driven mindset
  • Strong communication skills & ability to manage senior stakeholders
  • Ability to build a strong test & learn development mindset
  • Capacity to handle and manage interdependencies to drive a successful delivery
