Job description and areas of responsibility:    

As Director, MarTech Product, you will support Pandora’s strategic ambition to become the most relevant and desirable brand for our consumers. The role assumes governance of the full MarTech stack, its technology vision, strategy and roadmap. The role is responsible for developing and operating Pandora’s MarTech products to enable Pandora’s global marketing team to deliver an integrated 360 degree brand experience across all consumer touch points.


You will work closely with the CDTO and stakeholders in global marketing and local market clusters to continuously improve the MarTech domains supporting:

  • Data-driven performance marketing.
  • Dynamic content eco-system.
  • Customer journey orchestration and community management.
  • CRM.
  • Data capture and audience segmentation.


Together with the CDTO leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the digital transformation of Pandora and transition Pandora’s IT organization from a traditional to an agile model and new ways of working. 


This is a high-performance position which will draw on your accrued experience in digital, marketing and business acumen, working proactively to achieve our ambitious digital strategy goals. The role will suit a self-starter who can work in a rapidly changing environment; embraces ambiguity and demonstrates problem-solving leadership, and has a strong people focused style of functioning.


You will be responsible for:

  • Leading the MarTech transformation plan within Pandora working closely with adjoining leadership across Digital and Marketing disciplines
  • Inputting into global technology joint business plans with strategic vendors, ensuring optimal added value is unlocked and delivered
  • Management of the maturity and optimization of existing MarTech systems within the stack.
  • Overseeing the team of MarTech Product Managers responsible for successful utilization and adoption of systems globally, through training programs and vendor relationships 
  • Deploying new applications and features incl. anchoring new tech in the organization through training and documentation
  • Identifying new opportunities and experiments to drive proof of concepts to improve system integration, implementation time and generate cost efficiencies. Key priorities for the upcoming years include consolidation of the Marketing Technology stack, scaling the loyalty programme and implementation of the CDP, Customer Data Platform.
  • Building high performing teams by driving development and growth of current/future talents
  • Establishing a MarTech enabled community within Pandora to promote shared learnings, advance local markets and scale strategies
  • Key Stakeholder management within and external to Digital & Tech i.e., Technology vendors, Development partners, Data and analytics agencies, Digital consultancies
  • The definitions and management of Objective Key Results (OKR’s) such as
    • Positive return on investment for Marketing Technology costs
    • Improved speed/productivity/delivery e.g., contractual added value, reduced MarTech lead time, efficient MarTech licensing spend, improved implementation delivery
    • Stability and quality e.g., system uptime, # of defects
    • Proficiency of MarTech tools adoption and sophistication across the business


You will bring to the role:  

  • 10+ years’ experience in digital marketing, data and analytics or ecommerce
  • In depth experience in key digital development leadership of Marketing technology, including direct line management of a team of technical specialist
  • Leadership and operational experience with one or more of these areas: Marketing Technology, Digital Product Management, Agile development in fast paced environment
  • Experience with agile way of working and knowledge of agile governance and funding models
  • Ability to stand up an organization and hire digital technology talent
  • A proven ability to serve as a strategic business partner to leadership while simultaneously upskilling their team’s ability to support desired business goals and outcomes
  • Advanced understanding of your specialist platforms e.g., Vendor certified accreditations in web analytics, tag management etc.
  • Hands on platform experience across several MarTech systems

What is needed to succeed:   

We imagine that you are fluent in digital, have a university degree within a relevant field, and both a passion for, and work experience within MarTech. You should also have worked with pricing and financial planning.  


Further to this, you have:  

  • Strong background in technical elements of digital marketing either within a MarTech role or similar data and analytics/marketing function
  • Experience of successfully implementing and capturing commercial value with MarTech platforms (Web analytics, CDP, or paid media campaign management tools)
  • Knowledge of first and third-party data utilization within MarTech tools to deliver personalized experiences, including experience working with data & insight teams to deliver value from data assets
  • Facilitate communication between business (incl. marketing) and technology teams - Ability to coordinate and influence a wide variety of stakeholders across the enterprise to clear process bottlenecks
  • Able to provide informed perspective during prioritization and funding allocation decisions in the context of a product-based funding model
  • Knowledge of digital (search, social, email, ecommerce, app etc.) channels and how MarTech can deliver connected, personalized experiences across channels
  • Experience using audience segmentation and predictive models within MarTech platforms
  • GDPR knowledge and experience a plus
  • Communication and leadership skills - particularly strong in communicating between marketing and technology teams
  • Initiative - Passionate about innovation and promoter of bringing new ideas, solutions, and technologies on the table.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit - self-starter, ambitious and intrinsically motivated
