As Director of Global Social, you will shape the strategic direction, creative vision, and operational excellence of Pandora’s global social ecosystem—driving brand elevation, audience growth, and meaningful community impact while balancing key brand moments in the Pandora brand calendar.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and driven social leader with global experience in affordable luxury, lifestyle, beauty, fashion, or jewellery to set the bar for what best-in-class social looks like for the world’s largest jewellery brand.
Your Role
The Director of Global Social oversees the end-to-end strategy, development, and execution of all global social channels including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Reddit, YouTube, and emerging platforms, while co-leading platform direction for LinkedIn in partnership with Global Corporate Communications team.
You will define what “social-first” means for Pandora by developing platform strategies, driving creative excellence in the social space, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and enabling local markets to deliver cohesive, elevated, and high-performing social experiences with clear guidelines and strategies.
You will also work closely with key markets on regional needs for social channels in line with our developing business in Asia.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Brand Elevation
- Set the global strategic direction for all social channels, ensuring Pandora has a distinctive, elevated, and culturally relevant social presence.
- Develop world-class social-first strategies across storytelling, platform positioning, community engagement, and channel innovation.
- Establish competitive audience growth targets, content frameworks, and key platform KPIs to drive continuous improvement and brand relevance and heat.
Content & Creative Excellence
- Drive the creation of best-in-class social content across campaigns, always-on storytelling, cultural moments, event coverage, and talent-led activations.
- Ensure tone of voice, editorial direction, and visual identity reinforce Pandora’s brand elevation ambition.
- Partner closely with Creative Studio teams on content creation meets global creative standards.
- Aligning with brand strategy on direction, tone of voice and brand values to safe guard brand DNA across all channels.
Community Growth & Platform Innovation
- Drive strategies that grow and engage Pandora’s global social communities, ensuring local relevance with a unified global brand voice.
- Identify and test emerging platforms, formats, and innovations that unlock new audience opportunities.
- Guide crisis response and community management protocols in collaboration with PR and Corporate Communications.
Global Collaboration & Local Market Enablement
- Build strong relationships with local social teams, providing guidance, toolkits, frameworks, and strategic support.
- Lead global alignment across social calendars, campaign planning, influencer partnerships, and brand moments.
Leadership & Team Development
- Manage and mentor a high-performing team of four, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and innovation.
- Champion cross-functional partnerships with PR, Talent, Brand Strategy, Orchestration, Creative Studio, and Marketing Operations as well as local clusters.
Required Skills
- Social Strategy & Thought Leadership: Ability to define a differentiated, culturally relevant long-term vision for Pandora’s global social presence.
- Creative Excellence: Strong eye for high-quality, social-first creative across video, stills, editorial, and talent-led content.
- Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of platform algorithms, content formats, growth levers, and channel best practices across IG, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, Reddit, and emerging channels.
- Community Building & Engagement: Ability to grow engaged audiences while maintaining a consistent global brand voice.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Skilled at influencing creative, brand, PR, influencer, and market teams to drive cohesive global execution.
- Team Leadership & Development: Builds high-performing teams, fosters creativity, and establishes operational excellence.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to interpret performance metrics, social listening insights, and cultural trends to optimize strategy.
- Cultural Fluency: Deep understanding of cultural dynamics, trends, subcultures, and the behavior of social communities globally.
- Crisis & Reputation Management: Ability to guide real-time responses in partnership with PR and Corporate Comms.
- Operational Excellence: Strong planning, governance, and process-building capabilities for a global social ecosystem.
Required experience
- 8+ years of global social media experience within affordable luxury, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or jewellery (or comparably positioned brands).
- Proven track record of building iconic social brands and growing large-scale global communities.
- Deep expertise across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit, and emerging platforms, plus strong literacy in creator and cultural ecosystems.
- Demonstrated success leading social-first content briefing and creative best practices.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with experience managing and growing teams in a fast paced global business.
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management experience across marketing, PR, creative, and executive leadership.
- A data-driven mindset paired with strong creative instinct.
- A proactive, solution-oriented approach with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, global environment.
