This role supports PANDORA’s strategic ambition to be industry leading in personalisation and omnichannel, and grow our Global digital business by providing critical in-house ownership of the Ecommerce technology stack and will form a core part of the Global Digital Development and Retail Technology Leadership team.

 

As the global lead of the Digital Engineering teams you will form part of the senior leadership team in PANDORA’s Digital Hub. You will report directly into the VP of Digital Development and with the expectation to work collaboratively to shape the future of PANDORA’s Digital offering. 

 

The role will work strategically with the Product Directors and VP Digital Development to build out the digital product roadmap, providing high level input on how to solve business needs within the tech stack and sizing, balancing priorities and highlighting trade-offs as relevant.

 

The role leads and owns our technical implementation of SalesForce Commerce Cloud and related integrations for our Global business (minimum 18 trading countries across Americas, Europe & Asia and growing). This role will build and lead teams of internal developers, contractors and system integrator partners to deliver a best-in-class website and omni-channel experience.

 

The role is based in the Copenhagen office and will be part of a high-performance team across Asia, Europe and US responsible for building global eCommerce platform solutions.

 

Your Role as a Director, Digital Engineering Shopping:

 

  • Accountability for the Digital Shopping technology strategy
  • Work strategically with the ‘Shopping’ Product Director, the ‘Deliver on our Promise’ Digital Engineering Director and VP Digital Development to build out the digital product roadmap, providing high level input on how to solve business needs within the tech stack and sizing, balancing priorities and highlighting trade-offs as relevant.
  • Supporting the delivery of product strategy and goals by building and developing a world-class Digital engineering organisation
  • Responsibility for a group of engineering leads supporting dynamic cross-functional squads within the Shopping Tribe
  • Providing technical mentorship to engineers building and deploying large-scale projects internationally
  • Leading and building a large internal development team including permanent employees and contractor employees distributed around the world
  • Through the internal and external team available, leading the design, solution-development and then delivery of business requests in line with requirements from the Product team
  • Owning the technology implementation and delivery to the roadmap and in line with agile methodologies across the internal team and relevant system integrator partners
  • Guiding and mentoring developers, architects and QA specialists on the technology stack and delivery methodologies and practices to grow in house capabilities and improve ability to deliver with agility and pace
  • This is a high-performance position where you will draw on your accrued experience in technology and business acumen working aggressively to achieve challenging goals

 

 

What is needed to succeed:

 

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with architecting and building software products from pre-launch through maturity 
  • Experience with product development in an Agile environment
  • Experience in key engineering or technology leadership positions and minimum 5 years’ experience with direct management
  • Ability to stand up an organisation and hire Tech talent and knowledge of Agile development methodology 
  • Minimum 7 years of working with Ecommerce technology development and minimum 3 years of working with SFCC and OMS at a high level 
  • Strong understanding of the full eCommerce technology ecosystem including Digital Content, CMS, PIM, DAM, Payment, Tag Management, Web Analytics, ERP, CRM, OMS, WMS, Fraud Management and more  
  • Expert HTML and JavaScript knowledge  
  • Expert API knowledge especially within the realm of web-experiences and tools 
  • Solid knowledge of IT Methodologies and Software Development Lifecycle for information systems development, testing principles, project methodologies and practices 
  • Previous experience coaching, mentoring and developing engineers
