DevOps Tooling Intern

City:  Copenhagen V
Country/Region:  DK
Application Deadline:  N/A

Do you want to be a part of the world’s leading jewelry company and be on the forefront of DevOps tooling? If yes, then we might have an exciting opportunity for you!

About the Team

We are a newly formed team who deliver the tools that help the product teams in Pandora develop and operate their software. Our team researches which tool is most suitable for the company, then operates and integrates the tool. We develop pipelines and/or self-service portals to automate common admin tasks. We are ambassadors for good DevOps practices by writing great documentation, implementing example projects and if needed be a “consultant” for other teams in Pandora

What you will be working on

During your internship you will learn about and work on

  • Instrumenting existing programs to collect observability data (for example logs, metrics and distributed traces)

  • Develop visualizations (dashboards) to help operation and development teams get insights in Pandora production systems

How we are working

  • You will join a small agile team in which all have a voice

  • We start our sprints with a planning session, have daily scrum meetings and conclude the sprint with a demo in which we celebrate our achievements

  • We work in an environment where not everything is defined up front but where we learn as we go (you are curious and eager to learn)

What you will learn

To make your project a success you will have the opportunity to work closely together and learn from our most experienced DevOps engineers.  Amongst others we expect that you will have the opportunity to learn about

  • Good practices for development of cloud applications

  • Operating an application on Azure cloud

  • Observability use-cases from the real world

  • Learn about the observability tool ‘New Relic’ and standards such as opentelemetry

  • How to instrument code to collect relevant observability data

  • How it is to work as part of an Agile team

The programs that you will be instrumenting are written in a variety of programming languages, amongst others Javascript, Java and C# are used. Basic visualizations in New Relic can be created with YAML configuration files, more advanced visualizations are written in Typescript. We don’t expect you to know all of these when you start, but you are keen to learn.
