Data & AI Platform Engineer

 

Join us in one of the most interesting challenges in Data Engineering in 2024: Crafting a Data & AI platform that makes creating and using data products a seamless and fast experience. We provide the platform for teams across consumer engagement, supply chain, finance, merchandising, and manufacturing domains to build data, analytics, and AI products for the world's largest jewelry company. 

As a Data & AI Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the infrastructure and platform essential for scaling our data impact across the organization. Your contribution will be pivotal in creating a secure and private data platform, delivering SDKs that speed up data product deliveries, ensuring seamless creation of resources, and creating robust automated deployment flows.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and maintain the Data & AI platform and infrastructure 

  • Create SDKs that accelerate the organization's ability to deliver faster with the newest technology

  • Making the creation and access to data products swift, secure, and automated

  • Craft an easy and seamless integration between traditional data products and products levering advanced analytics, Machine Learning, and AI

  • Enable teams to deploy and test their development in automated CI/CD flows across platforms

  • Integrate and set up DevOps tools and platforms that enable both our platform teams and products teams to deliver better and faster

  • Interact with stakeholders to scope tasks and evaluate requirements for incoming requests. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • Experience building end-to-end systems as a Senior Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, or DevOps Engineer

  • Strong software engineering skills in complex, multi-language systems

  • Fluency in Python

  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code, e.g. Terraform

  • Experience working with cloud computing and database systems (SQL, no-SQL, distributed systems, data lakes, etc) such as Databricks

  • Experience building custom integrations between cloud-based systems using APIs

  • Familiarity with one or more data-oriented workflow orchestration frameworks 

  • Ability to translate business needs to technical requirements

  • Strong understanding of software testing, benchmarking, and continuous integration

  • Experience in infrastructure, data and model monitoring & alerting (e.g. tools like NewRelic, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)

  • Exposure and understanding of FinOps best practices for the public cloud

 

Education & Experience

  • 4–8 years experience building production-quality software & data products.

  • Bachelors or Masters degree and/or equivalent professional experience
