Data Governance Specialist

About the Role
We’re looking for a Data Governance Specialist who will drive identification of all Data Assets at Pandora, as well as support the development of our data governance framework and enterprise data governance policies, processes, standards and roles across systems and projects.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating with business units, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and establish governance requirements.
- Data Classification and Privacy: Developing and maintaining a data classification system and taxonomy, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Data Quality Monitoring: Collaborating with the Data Excellence Team to monitor data quality.
- Policy and Procedure Establishment: Defining and documenting data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective data management practices.
- Data Domain Ownership: Identifying and owning data domains (data blocks).
- Cross-Functional Data Forums: Driving cross-functional data forums for all data domains.
- Data Asset Identification: Driving the identification of all data assets at Pandora.
- Data Glossary Management: Driving, maintaining, and owning the data glossary.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating data-related risks through controls, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
- Facilitation: Highlighting the ability to lead workshops and facilitate discussions, ensuring active participation and productive outcomes.
In order to succeed, we expect you to have and can demonstrate:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience, ideally within the finance or supply chain domain.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance concepts, frameworks, and best practices to establish and maintain effective data governance processes.
- Familiarity with data protection laws, regulations, and industry compliance standards to ensure the organization's data practices align with legal requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and senior management, fostering a data-centric culture.
- Ability to analyze complex data governance issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions to improve data governance processes and mitigate risks.
- Attention to detail when it comes to ensuring data accuracy and compliance with governance standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities, as well as a proactive approach in order to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience in large strategic programs (e.g., ERP upgrades) would be a great plus.
About the Team
You will join the Data Governance team, which is part of our multi-cultural Data Management Team with members over 3 locations: Copenhagen, Warsaw, and Thailand. You will be part of a matrix organisation of 20 data enthusiasts spread across Data Governance, Data Excellence, Data Architecture, Master Data Tooling and ERP Master Data professionals.
