Assortment Planning Manager, Moments, Global Merchandising

Take action on plans to ensure targets are met 

As Assortment Planning Manager, you are responsible for planning through to execution of the assigned collection(s). This role functions as the assortment analytical counterpart to the Global Business Units (GBUs) and Design through all seasonal stages from line planning to buying/producing and sales analysis/post-mortem for the dedicated collection. You will co-own the product lifecycle and end of season strategies, and you will work cross-functionally to finalise conceptual assortment plans and monitor financial impact through product development stages.  

  

In this role, you will translate global strategy into actionable items related to line planning, financial planning for the product development and sell-in strategy. You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver financial results, maximise profits and analyse competitors and trends. You will be responsible for the planning and forecasting of the total assortment for a collection and translate global strategies into seasonal financial objectives. Together with the Inventory Optimisation team, you will ensure collection priorities are cascaded into demand plans and inventory management. Further, you will align with the Commercial Insights & Pricing team to manage margin target for your collection(s). Here, you will aggregate, analyse, report and take action on line plans to ensure margin targets are met.  

  

Additional accountabilities include: 

  • Use historical performance, in-season sales, cluster plans and Global Business Unit strategies to create initial seasonal plans (conceptual assortment plan). 

  • Develop strategies to improve KPIs and meet global needs for the assigned collection/category. 

  • Be main point of contact for reporting final cluster buys for all channels. 

  • Coordinate cross-functionally to revise assortment plans based on in-season sales insights and monitor in-season sales to identify opportunities. 

  • Co-lead weekly trade and leveraging trade to inform future commercial protection of best sellers. 

  • Develop and summarise global sales forecasts based on trends/data insights.  

  • Monetise trends into strong merchandising plans. 

  

You will report to the Director of Assortment Planning and be part of a small team that collaborates to commercialise the complete assortment across currently one collection to reach the financial ambitions. You will enjoy a multitude of cross-functional collaborations across Product, Marketing, Production, Supply Chain and Finance.    

  

Strong Merchandise Planner with global experience 

To join our Global Merchandising team, we are looking for a strong, seasoned, technical Merchandise Planner with global vertical retailing and omnichannel experience. You must have strong business acumen and be relentlessly commercial, fact-based and analytical. Your strong analytical skills make you able to manage large sets of data and present results in a simple manner. Apart from being strong in logical reasoning, you are also people-smart, can collaborate cross-functionally and geographically, and you are able to maintain strong working relationships with peers. You are flexible and adaptive to changing priorities, which makes you able to perform under pressure, organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines. Furthermore, we hope you have or can demonstrate: 

  

  • 5+ years of solid experience working within Merchandise Planning & Product, or Demand Planning 

  • Experience from retail, fashion, lifestyle or the FMCG industry 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising or similar 

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude to learn technical applications (like: MS Access, Hyperion and APTOS) quickly 

  • Knowledge of planning software 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
