Merchandise Planner

The Merchandise Planners primary purpose is to drive sales & inventory forecasts for all SKU’s and Topline Categories within a monthly Open To Buy forecast across Pacific Greater Asia. They will ensure sales and inventory forecasts are driving demand plans and integrated with the Finance and Retail forecasts. They will provide pre-season topline targets to merchants for assorting and buying by channel. Ensure OTB’s by channels inform finance budgets and call out risk and opportunities in season.

 

Key accountabilities:

 

Financial Plans 

Retail Pre Season – Owned & Operated and Estore topdown category / collection / GBU plans per season to ensure sales and inventory targets are in line with financials

  • Wholesale Pre Season Sell in to Sell out Plans for Key Wholesale Accounts  topdown category / collection / GBU plans per season to ensure sell targets are in line with financials
  • Become expert at controlling TXT MFP parameters for Top Down & Bottom Up reconciliation
  • Price Type plans (RRP, Average Sell Point, Discount Rate)
  • Ultimate Owner of Inventory Optimisation & variances to Targets
  • Analytical driver of ’one version of the truth’ on product performance to plan and Last Year Like For Like
  • Ensure Online and Offline inventory balance is planned pre-season and in season
  • Online v Offline stock to sales targets
  • Ensure stock plans are balanced across Local Centre/Distribution Centre to optimise each channel’s peaks
  • Build inventories according to budgets and forecasts

 

Owner of Life Cycle Management

  • Leader of End of Season Sale and Outlet sales and inventory
  • Global In store & exits
  • Provisions
  • Remelts forecasts
  • Escalate any inventory issues to Demand Planners Merchandisers proactively to secure sales upside (shortages) and mitigate downside risks (overages)

 

 

Pivotal and professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Marketing, Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising
  • 3-5 years of solid experience working within Merchandising and/or experience from retail, fashion, lifestyle or FMCG industry.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and strong aptitude to learn technical applications (like: MS Access, Hyperion and APTOS) quickly
  • Knowledge of planning software
