Officer, Direct Materials Buyer
Responsibilities
• Ensure Material Requirement Plans to meet with accuracy and smooth execution
• Ensure effective and efficient direct materials inventory allocation for each site
• Monitor inventory level to ensure sufficient inventory for production and define inventory parameters while maintaining cost balance and reducing SLOB
• Collaborate effectively and build strong relationships with stakeholders in Production, Master Planning, Scheduling, Procurement, Contract Manufacturing, Logistics & Warehouse, Quality, and Suppliers
• Proactively learning of materials management concept and working collaboratively with cross functions in Pandora.
• Execute PO issuing process for direct raw materials and manage suppliers on the delivery plan and tracking status.
• Work in close coordination with Logistics & Warehouse and Quality team if there are any issues with PO, documentation, or quality problem with the direct raw materials coming in.
• Working closely with materials planner for shortage or critical orders. Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to expedite direct materials shipment based on the priorities and requests.
• Proactively provide feedback or information from suppliers to material planners on any foreseeing risks or delays of the delivery plan from suppliers.
• Provide feedback and support Procurement team in continuously improving supplier assessment criteria, capacity, and performance.
• Executing PO and working closely with quality, receiving, Import/Export team to return out of standard materials back to suppliers.
• Be able to analyse & provide inventory overview.
• Understand & be able to analyse material shortage overview.
• Analyse and create overview for short, medium, long-term risks on raw materials.
• Monitor & Improve supplier performance.
• Support team with tools and any other process improvement to help reduce workload or process steps (Power BI, Think-cell, advance excel).
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from any fields.
• 3-5 years of working experience in planning/procurement related area is preferable (Knowledge related to jewellery production is a plus).
• Knowledge in MRP (SAP) is a plus.
• Ability to work with data and information.
• Demonstrate ability to provide suggestion or options.
• Ability to deliver work while handling both volume and details.
• Is self-motivated, hungry for development, and able to adapt to change.
• Able to communicate the information and handle conflicts in a collaborative way.
• Fair to good English Communication skills.
