Engineering Director
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Engineering Director to lead our engineering efforts within the manufacturing technology sector. As an Engineering Director, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our technology strategy for optimizing manufacturing processes, driving operational excellence, and delivering innovative solutions. Your expertise in engineering, coupled with your strong leadership skills, will be crucial in aligning cross-functional teams, shaping the technology roadmap, and ensuring the successful implementation of projects that revolutionize our manufacturing capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and oversee a diverse team of skilled engineers and technical professionals, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to drive high performance, innovation, and career growth.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders in manufacturing, operations, and R&D to define technology roadmaps that align with business objectives and drive continuous improvements across manufacturing processes.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that encompasses a wide range of capabilities and digital transformation initiatives within the manufacturing domain.
- Drive the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation and design to implementation, testing, and deployment of technology-driven manufacturing solutions.
- Ensure solutions are released with adequate observability and troubleshooting mechanics in place. Define service level agreements, indicators and objectives. Select metrics and thresholds to detect anomalies in system operation.
- Accountable to production incidents using structured analysis and fact-based observations. Implement temporary and permanent solutions to restore service levels within agreed SLA timelines. Communicate progress clearly, escalate when needed.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, encouraging teams to explore new technologies, methodologies, and processes that enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and operational excellence.
- Harness the power of data analytics and real-time monitoring to optimize manufacturing workflows, predict maintenance needs, and drive continuous process improvement in corporation with Data & Analytics function
- Monitor project progress and performance, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality standards. Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing engineering, leveraging this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, providing insights into technology trends, potential business opportunities, and challenges within the manufacturing technology landscape.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience (5 years+) of Technology in Manufacturing environment including Cloud, Manufacturing Execution System.
- Agile & DevOps experience and ambition for the role and team.
- Technical/Engineering expertise with API’s, CI/CD and Observability tooling.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams through the implementation of technology-driven manufacturing solutions that result in operational efficiencies and improved product quality.
- In-depth knowledge of Industry 4.0 principles and practices, with a focus on leveraging digital technologies to transform traditional manufacturing processes.
- Experience with smart manufacturing platforms, digital twin technologies, and real-time process optimization.
- Strong familiarity with cloud computing, edge computing, and cybersecurity considerations in manufacturing technology implementations.
- Proven ability to collaborate with external partners, vendors, and research institutions to stay at the forefront of technological advancements in manufacturing.
- Prior experience in technology leadership roles within manufacturing organizations, guiding large-scale technology transformation initiatives.
