About the Team:
The Cluster Accounting Manager will manage the period end process for the cluster, with the majority of activities being performed by the Service Delivery Centre’s and GBS. As such they will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely closing of the books.
The role will also be accountable for ensuring that policies, processes and controls are in place locally (within global frameworks and guidance), and that any controls and compliance activities which need to take place locally, are being performed.
The Cluster Accounting Manager will be the main point of contact for the GBS Service Delivery Lead and will ensure there is a timely response from and to the Cluster e.g. regarding sign off on relevant accruals and provisions. They are also accountable for providing relevant information to the Service Delivery Centre as defined in the process, in a timely and accurate manner. In turn, the Service Delivery Lead will engage regularly with the Cluster Accounting Manager to ensure the business requirements are met as per agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), where in place, and to discuss the service delivery performance.
The Cluster Accounting Manager will work with Group Finance to ensure the Group Accounting policies are applied at the Cluster level and that any significant estimates are well-documented and reviewed.
He/she will be expected to quickly get to know the business and work across the cluster and markets to support stakeholders’ decision-making processes, for example by ensuring the right accounting rules are applied in investment decisions, transitions from franchise to O&O are managed in accordance with the right procedures etc.
The role requires a combination of excellent understanding of the financial numbers, Risk and Control frameworks, combined with solid business knowledge
Your Role as a An Accounting Manager:
Internal and External Audit Lead
- Ensure all findings are addressed and resolved
- Support substantive testing
- Preparer & Support all external audits
- Lead local audits and provide all necessary financial statements and supporting documents
ICF & Balance Sheet
- Work with Cluster Finance Controlling Director to develop effective and efficient process for quarterly balance sheet reviews
- Work with GBS team to continue to build supporting reconciliations for key balance sheet items, creating more details and analysis behind end-of-month results
- Throughout and following Month-End Close, dive deeper into results to more fully establish the story of balance sheet activity and trends
- Investigate and action low ICF ratings
- Ensure compliance with new or enhanced ICFs
Leadership
- Facilitate close meetings, check-ins, and constant communication; bridge any gaps between the Baltimore team and SDC Warsaw so that results and expectations are fully aligned [and surprises are eliminated]
- Develop professional relationships, and become a key partner with others within the Pandora business as well as Group Controlling
- Stay in the loop with key areas of close, to assist in troubleshooting and also to keep the finance team and other key stakeholders informed on status
GL & Reporting
- Lead MEC with Warsaw and Finance during the 3 days of close.
- Postmortem for month end closes and recommend improvements
- Review SLA and KPIs with Warsaw and ensure compliance\improvements
- Ensure balance sheet is fully supportable and no risks exist going into year-end close
- Review and adjust accrual policies as required. i.e return cap window
- Address process deficiencies and develop mitigation plans to course correct
- Partner with Treasury and AP on monthly process related to T&E and Corp credit card.
- Liaison between NAM Finance and Warsaw during close and to find explanation\rational on accounting entries and processes. i.e Sales Return Reserve and Warranty
- Assist in legal P&L review, commentary and reconciliation to performance P&L
- Work with Warsaw on balance sheet forecast and Budget
- Partner with Warsaw on the review of AP aging and Concur
- Payroll entry review and annual bonus calculation
- Intercompany payroll recharges
- Legal P&L and Balance sheet comments for MEC
- Partner with Sales tax team on the monthly reconciliation and follow up

- Knowledge of and ability to work in reporting applications (HFM and Management Reporter is a must)
Maryland Salary:$125,000 – $135,000 commensurate with experience
