The Director of Collaborations is responsible for driving the strategic planning, development, and execution of Pandora’s global collaboration programs, with a primary focus on Disney Consumer Products and key alliance partners. This role develops comprehensive business plans, oversees collection strategy, manages cross-functional alignment, and ensures commercial and operational excellence across all collaborative product initiatives.
This leader serves as the primary operational partner to external collaborators, manages internal global coordination, and delivers commercially effective product collections that meet margin and financial expectations. The Director of Collaborations manages a team including the Manager of Parks and the Manager of Alliance, ensuring strong execution and collaboration across all partnership workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Business Development
- Lead the development of annual and long-term business plans for Disney Consumer Products and related collaboration programs.
- Create strategic briefs to guide Collection Development, Creative, Communications, and Go-to-Market (GTM) planning.
- Translate partner insights and brand strategies into commercially viable opportunities that deliver growth.
Partnership & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary external relationship manager for Disney Consumer Products, ensuring alignment on product strategy, timelines, and commercial objectives.
- Own the meeting cadence and business review rhythm with external partners, including monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
- Ensure seamless alignment between external partner expectations and internal planning cycles.
Commercial Ownership
- Deliver on commercial targets across all collaboration collections, ensuring product, pricing, and strategy meet financial expectations.
- Lead P&L considerations for collaboration programs, including margin targets, costing scenarios, and investment needs.
- Provide financial input into line planning, forecasting, and seasonal or annual business reviews.
Collection Management
- Oversee end-to-end management of collaboration collections, including concepting, development, approval cycles, and readiness for launch.
- Partner closely with Creative, Product Development, Merchandising, and Marketing to ensure collections meet brand and partner standards.
- Support all agreement-related processes, ensuring alignment with terms, rights, timelines, and commercial commitments.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead internal alignment across Global Marketing, Creative, Product, Merchandising, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and Regional Markets.
- Ensure cross-functional teams have clear direction, timelines, and requirements to deliver collaboration programs successfully.
- Translate partner expectations and contractual obligations into clear internal workstreams.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop two managers ensuring clarity of goals, performance expectations, and partnership management excellence.
- Foster strong collaboration, accountability, and communication across all collaboration-related teams.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in collaborations, licensing, consumer products, entertainment partnerships, or related brand management fields.
- Strong experience managing external partnerships, ideally with major IP or entertainment brands (e.g. Disney or comparable).
- Proven ability to develop business plans, line plans, forecasts, and commercially grounded product strategies.
- Solid financial acumen, including P&L oversight, margin targets, costing, and pricing considerations.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, Creative, Finance, and Supply Chain.
- Skilled at building strategic briefs and translating partner requirements into actionable internal plans.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading partner business reviews and meeting cadences.
- Prior people management experience, ideally overseeing managers or specialized partnership roles.
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, matrixed environments typical of New York consumer, entertainment, and fashion markets.
