MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide resources to direct retail sales for selection of Pandora store location in Japan in line with the strategy of expansion. This role heads a team of leasing and SDP professionals, directs the network expansion strategy and sits within the Pandora Asia Cluster.
- Develop market expansion plans for free standing stores in streets and shopping centers in agreement with Senior Management
- Identify and promote new business opportunities of the brand focusing on qualitative distribution (focus on A+ and A locations)
- Make sure the annual expansion plan can be carried out timely
- Negotiate conditions with landlords and coordinate with Legal Department in Pandora Group local office
- Coordinate the overall business development of new projects (store openings, etc.) collaborating with all internal departments (store planning, construction, merchandising, supply chain, etc.)
- Monitor competitors in the marketplace
- Be responsible for the 3-year plan, IP approvals and other relevant administrative / reporting work
- Other relevant work as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Finance, Economics or other relevant subjects
- Strong hands-on experience in retail store opening within major cities in Japan
- Good market knowledge of major department stores in Japan
- 15+ years in BD function with other retail brands
- Strong connections with key landlords, real estate agents / brokers
- Advanced knowledge of retail industry
- Excellent negotiation and strong influencing skill
- Able to travel frequently within Japan (40%), International travel only as needed
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Native Japanese speaker, Reasonable spoken English
- Knowledge of retail store construction and design is highly regarded but not mandatory
- Able to take the initiative and lead market expansion while maintaining a collaborative mindset with cluster and global teams
