Pandora is looking for a dynamic and business-savvy Specialist, Finance Controlling in Panama City.
Main purpose of the role:
This role plays a key part in supporting the Controlling Manager in overseeing financial controlling, statutory compliance, and audit processes across the cluster. The position is highly collaborative, hands on, requiring close interaction with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and local advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting and full compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
As a Controlling Specialist, you will contribute to the integrity of financial information, support audit readiness, and ensure high-quality corporate reporting, with a primary focus on selected markets within the cluster.
Your key accountabilities:
- Support the Controlling Manager in the execution and monitoring of financial controlling activities across the LATAM Cluster.
- Coordinate and support statutory audit processes, working closely with the Audit Coordinator and external audit firms to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
- Collaborate with external auditors and local advisors to ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Follow up on audit requests and open items, ensuring proper tracking, resolution, and adherence to deadlines.
- Support the monthly closing and corporate reporting processes for the cluster, with direct involvement in 2 of the 6 markets.
- Perform monthly analytical reviews of financial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and proper accounting treatment in line with Group policies.
- Collaborate with GBS and local finance teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial records and reporting.
- Work closely with inventory-related financial processes, supporting proper accounting, reconciliation, and controls, and collaborating with relevant teams to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of financial information to Cluster and Group Finance.
- Support balance sheet reviews and reconciliations, ensuring key controls are in place and functioning effectively.
- Coordinate with local advisors to ensure statutory financial information is compliant and up to date.
- Provide guidance and support to local teams on IFRS application and accounting treatments.
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting quality.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Tax, GBS, and local finance stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in financial controlling, external audit (Big 4), or a similar role within an international company.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and solid understanding of statutory and audit processes.
- Experience supporting or coordinating statutory audits.
- Experience collaborating with outsourced/shared service centers
- Solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with monthly closing and financial reporting processes.
- Experience in managing inventories or working closely with inventory-related financial processes, including accounting, reconciliation, and controls.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including external advisors and auditors.
- Strong communication skills in cross-functional and multicultural environments.
- Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
- Experience in retail or multinational environments is a plus.
