Senior Specialist, Merchandise Planning - Interim

Do you thrive at the intersection of business transformation, systems enablement, and commercial planning? Are you passionate about helping teams adopt new ways of working while ensuring operational excellence? Then you could be the Senior Specialist, Merchandising Planning we're looking for.

As Senior Specialist, Merchandising Planning, you will play a key role in supporting the transformation of Pandora's Merchandising Planning organization through the implementation of our new planning platform, o9. Serving as the team's o9 Super User, you will act as the primary expert, trainer, and change champion, helping colleagues build capability and confidence while ensuring planning quality remains strong throughout the transition.

Alongside your transformation responsibilities, you will remain closely connected to the core Merchandising Planning function, supporting the business, promoting process standardization, and driving end-to-end planning excellence across markets and clusters.

This is a unique opportunity to combine system expertise, change management, and commercial planning in a role that will have a direct impact on how Pandora plans, forecasts, and executes globally.

Key responsibilities

o9 transition & super user responsibility

  • Act as o9 Super User for the Merchandising Planning team, serving as the primary point of expertise and first point of contact for system-related questions during and after rollout

  • Design and deliver training support to peers transitioning to o9, ensuring colleagues build confidence and capability in the new platform at pace

  • Identify and escalate system gaps or process misalignments between o9 and existing ways of working, proposing practical solutions to maintain planning quality throughout the transition

  • Document and maintain best practice guidelines, training materials, and process standards related to o9 usage within the Merchandising Planning function

  • Support change management across the team, acting as a bridge between the system implementation workstream and day-to-day planning operations

Merchandising planning

  • Stay actively connected to live planning cycles and cluster business rhythms — participating in relevant forums, reviews, and team routines to maintain commercial relevance and ensure o9 ways of working remain grounded in real operational realities

  • Champion standardization and E2E process efficiency across the Merchandising Planning function by identifying gaps between current practices and optimal ways of working, and translating those insights into scalable process improvements within o9

  • Drive process and tool optimization in partnership with planning colleagues, using proximity to the core business to continuously refine how forecasting, buying inputs, and inventory signals flow through o9 — reducing manual workarounds and building repeatable, best-in-class planning routines

  • Serve as a process design authority for the MP community, defining and maintaining end-to-end planning standards within the o9 environment that can be adopted consistently across clusters and markets

  • Flex capacity to support the broader team on  tasks and processes as needed during the rollout period, ensuring business continuity and collective delivery

What is needed to succeed

We imagine that you bring a strong background in merchandising planning, demand planning, supply chain planning, or a related function, combined with a passion for systems, process improvement, and change management. You enjoy helping others succeed and are energized by driving adoption of new tools and ways of working in a complex, global environment.

Furthermore, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Significant experience within merchandising planning, inventory planning, forecasting, or a related planning discipline.

  • Experience working with o9, including supporting or leading system implementations, user adoption, process optimization, and business transformation initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end planning processes and operational workflows.

  • Experience creating and delivering training, coaching colleagues, and building organizational capability.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.

  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders, functions, and geographies.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex processes into clear and actionable guidance.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and passion for process excellence.

Personal competencies

To succeed in this role, you are:

  • A strong collaborator who enjoys working across teams and functions.

  • An effective communicator and natural trainer who can simplify complexity.

  • Structured and detail-oriented while maintaining a broader end-to-end perspective.

  • Curious and proactive when identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Comfortable navigating change and supporting others through transformation.

  • Solution-oriented and resilient when working through challenges.

  • Able to balance operational delivery with long-term process improvements.

  • Passionate about creating scalable, efficient, and sustainable ways of working.

Your new team

You will join Pandora's Merchandising Planning organization during an exciting period of transformation. Working closely with planning teams, clusters, and cross-functional partners, you will play a pivotal role in enabling the successful adoption of o9 while helping shape the future of Merchandising Planning across Pandora. Through your expertise, you will help establish new standards, strengthen planning capabilities, and ensure our teams have the tools, processes, and support needed to deliver exceptional business outcomes.
