Merchandising Financial Planning Specialist

Pandora is looking for a new colleague as Merchandising Financial Planning Specialist in Italy.
You will report to the SEMEA Merchandise Financial Planning Manager and will be based in Milan. You will become part of a regional planning community and a broader global network of colleagues across Europe and other key markets. As Merchandise Financial Planning Specialist, you will play a key role in managing pricing and promotional strategies, supporting the definition, execution, and performance monitoring of markdowns, campaigns, and pricing architecture across Italy and other markets within the SEMEA cluster (such as Turkey, Greece, South Africa, and UAE). In this role, you will work closely with Merchandising, Finance, and Supply Chain teams, as well as with local management and key business functions, ensuring that pricing and promotional decisions are fully aligned with financial targets, market dynamics, and overall business strategy.

What you will do:

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Support the development of annual, seasonal, and in-season financial plans (sales, margin, inventory, markdowns)
  • Translate business strategies into robust financial forecasts and targets
  • Continuously monitor performance and reforecast based on trends and market dynamics

RGM, Pricing & Promo:

  • Lead the local cluster pricing architecture, ensuring price laddering and psychological price point logic is applied by market and channel.
  • Conduct FX buffer analysis and competitive benchmarking to recommend price adjustments aligned to cluster commercial targets
  • Support the the Revenue Growth Management (RGM) agenda for the cluster: identify pricing levers, mix optimization opportunities, and elasticity scenarios to drive profitable growth
  • Drive the cluster promotional calendar, ensuring promotional activities are planned with sufficient lead time, aligned with global guidelines, and signed off by relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze promotional uplift, sell-out effectiveness, and margin impact across events, providing post-event reporting and forward recommendations.
  • Actively participate in conversations with finance team on promotional budget construction, last estimate alignment, and discount ownership (retail and GM).

Inventory & OTB Management:

  • Support open-to-buy (OTB) management, ensuring alignment with financial targets
  • Monitor stock levels and recommend actions to optimize inventory productivity
  • Partner with stakeholders to balance availability, profitability, and stock health

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Merchandising, Buying, and Allocation teams to align financial and assortment strategies
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly business reviews
  • Ensure consistency between regional plans and global guidelines

What you bring:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Financial Planning, or Retail Analytics
  • Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate data into business insights
  • Advanced Excel skills (knowledge of planning tools is a plus)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross-functional environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Permanent employment contract under the Italian Commerce Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL Commercio)
  • Competitive salary: between 42.000 and 52.000 Euro gross per year, depending on previous experience and qualifications.
