Manager, Atlassian Tooling

We are looking for a new Manager to take end‑to‑end ownership of Jira and Confluence as enterprise platforms across Pandora’s Digital & Technology organisation. The role is responsible for ensuring that the Atlassian toolset is stable, reliable, and fit for purpose, and that it supports delivery, planning, reporting, and collaboration at scale across teams and domains. About the Role

As Manager, Atlassian Tooling, you are accountable for operating and evolving the enterprise Atlassian platform (core products being Jira and Confluence) on a day‑to‑day basis. You'll work hands‑on in the tools, making configuration decisions, handling incidents and escalations, managing integrations, and prioritising incoming demand. You will be collaborating closely with delivery teams, portfolio stakeholders, DevOps, and external partners to ensure the platforms remain usable, scalable, and well‑controlled in a dynamic environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

 

1.Platform Ownership & Stability

  • Atlassian Org Administration responsibilities, as well as handling and coordinating incidents, issues, and escalations
  • Acting as primary point of contact for Atlassian‑related topics, and ensuring platform stability, availability, and continuity
  • Coordinating with Atlassian Support and marketplace vendors
  • Owning platform hygiene, performance, and overall health
  • Supporting audit readiness, access governance, and basic controls (e.g. backups, admin roles)

 

2. Technical Operations & Integrations

  • Maintaining and supporting integrations with enterprise systems (e.g. ITSM, identity, reporting, CI/CD)
  • Configuring and maintaining Jira Automation rules, as well as troubleshooting integration and automation failures
  • Ensuring marketplace apps are stable, supported, and fit for purpose

 

3. Jira & Confluence Configuration

  • Administering Jira and Confluence Cloud day‑to‑day
  • Translating business and delivery requirements into practical Jira/Confluence configurations
  • Configuring and maintaining workflows, issue types, schemes, as well as projects, boards, dashboards, reports, etc.
  • Ensuring alignment with the Digital & Technology Operating model to secure scalability
  • Defining and enforcing pragmatic standards and guardrails where needed
  • Reducing ad‑hoc configuration and improving data consistency over time
  • Documenting configurations, changes, decisions, and known patterns

 

4. Demand, Support & Stakeholder Management

  • Acting as central contact point for Jira/Confluence requests and questions
  • Owning intake, prioritisation, and delivery of work (break/fix vs enhancements)
  • Supporting delivery, planning, and engineering teams in effective tool usage
  • Enabling users and local admins through guidance, training, and documentation
  • Navigating competing stakeholder demands with clarity and pragmatism

 

What Is Needed to Succeed

You are comfortale operating as a senior individual contributor and owning end‑to‑end responsibility for Jira and Confluence in a complex organization. You are a strong communicator, and you easily built trust with stakeholders across different functions and backgrounds. You have a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset, and solid prioritisation skills.

 

Additionally, we expect that you have and can demonstrate:

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in Atlassian tooling, application management, or similar platform roles
  • Strong hands‑on experience administering Jira Cloud
  • Solid experience with workflows, schemes, permissions, and automation, as well as project and space configuration
  • Experience supporting Atlassian at scale with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Certification: Atlassian Certified Professional – Jira Administrator for Cloud (ACP‑120), or other relevant certifications
  • Experience from both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments would be a strong advantage
  • Experience with ITSM tools and/or Jira APIs and integrations is a plus
  • Familiarity with enterprise SaaS environments is an advantage
